When you call us, you reach real people who know your name, not a call center that never learns your business.

Several of our team are Enrolled Agents, the highest credential the IRS grants, so the plain-English answer is also the right one. That is what more than fifty years in the same community looks like.

If you filed on the 15th, take a breath. Then look up.

The deadline is behind you, but the year is not, and the moves that lower your bill still have to happen before December 31. Your income, your owner pay, your deductions, all still worth a quick review while there is time.

Light and direct (this week's one direct CTA). Let's get a year-end review on the calendar while it still counts.

The most useful year-end conversations usually start with a simple question.

How is the year actually shaping up. Should anything change about how I pay myself. Is there a purchase or a contribution worth making before December 31. You do not need every answer, you just need to ask before the year closes.

Most deductions have to be handled before December 31, not at tax time.

Worth a look now: retirement contributions, equipment purchases, health insurance premiums, home office and vehicle use, and prepaying certain expenses. Each has its own limits and details, which is exactly why a quick review beats guessing.

If you run an S corp, a few common salary mistakes quietly cost owners the most.

Paying yourself nothing, setting the number too low, taking it all as distributions, not documenting how you landed on it, or waiting until tax time to fix it. Every one of them is avoidable with a quick review while there is still time in the year.

One week left. If you filed an extension this spring, your 2025 return is due October 15.

An extension added time to file, not time to pay, so the sooner it is in, the sooner you know exactly where you stand. If it is not filed yet, we can help you land the deadline.

LLC or S corp is one of the most common questions we get, and a lot of the confusion comes from treating them as the same choice. They are not.

An LLC is how your business is legally set up. An S corp is a way of being taxed. An LLC can even elect to be taxed as an S corp, and for some owners that election changes what they owe, mostly through how salary and distributions are handled. For others it is not worth the added paperwork.

There is no one right answer, only the one that fits your numbers. That is what a short conversation is for.

If you filed an extension this spring, this is your reminder. Your 2025 return is due October 15.

An extension gave you more time to file, not more time to pay, so the sooner it is done, the sooner you know exactly where you stand. It is also a natural moment to look ahead at any moves worth making before December 31.

If your return still is not filed, we can help you get it in on time.

Every Long Island contractor asks some version of this in Q4. Should I buy the truck, or the equipment, before December 31?

Buying before year-end can move a deduction into this year, which is real money. But it only makes sense if you actually need the thing and the cash flow supports it. A purchase you did not need is not a tax strategy, it is just a purchase.

The right answer depends on your numbers, which is exactly the kind of thing worth a quick call before you sign.
