“What would he have become. How could he have changed his piece of the world to make it better?” -Dennis Shepard

On October 7, 1998, Matthew Shepard was found tied to a fence in Laramie, Wyoming. Brutally beaten and left for dead. Just after midnight on October 12, 1998, Matthew Shepard died. His murderers targeted him because he was gay. He was 21 years old. On the 28th anniversary of the tragic end of Matthew Shepard’s life, we tell his story. We hope you will join us.
