RETIREMENT FUN FACT

Here’s something we don’t talk about enough when planning for retirement:

You’re not just retiring from a job. You’re gaining back a whole lot of TIME.

Think about it. If you normally work 40 hours a week, that’s more than 2,000 hours a year that suddenly belong to you.

So what are you going to do with them?

Travel more?
Spend time with the grandkids?
Volunteer?
Pick up an old hobby?
Finally tackle that project you’ve been putting off?

We spend a lot of time talking about having enough money for retirement, and of course that matters.

But I think there’s another question worth asking:

What are you retiring TO?

That might be just as important as the numbers.

What would you do with an extra 2,000 hours a year?

🤔 A QUESTION WORTH ASKING…

If you retired tomorrow, do you know exactly where your monthly income would come from?

For many retirees, income may come from several different places—Social Security, pensions, retirement accounts, investments and other sources.

But having money saved and having an income strategy aren't necessarily the same thing.

A retirement plan should help answer:

Where will my income come from, how long could it last, and how could taxes affect it?

Those are conversations worth having before retirement.

RETIREMENT IS ABOUT MORE THAN INVESTMENTS.

When we sit down with a family, we aren't looking at just one account or one statement.

We want to understand the whole picture:

• Retirement income
• Investments
• Taxes
• Social Security
• Estate planning
• Healthcare
• Legacy goals

At SunRift Capital Partners, our process is simple:

PLAN. BUILD. PROTECT.

Because your financial life is connected—and your retirement plan should be too.

RETIREMENT FACT WITH DUSTIN

Retirement planning isn’t just about how much you’ve saved — it’s also about how you’ll turn those savings into income.

Once the paycheck stops, your retirement income may come from several different places:

• Social Security
• Pensions
• 401(k)s and IRAs
• Investment accounts
• Annuities or other income sources

The important question becomes:

Which accounts should you draw from first — and how could those withdrawals affect your taxes?

Having a retirement income strategy before you retire can help you understand how all the pieces work together.

Retirement is more than reaching a number. It’s having a plan for what happens next.

RETIREMENT FACT

Did you know retirement contribution limits increased for 2026?

For 2026, the employee contribution limit for 401(k), 403(b), and most 457 plans is $24,500.

If you’re age 50 or older, you may be eligible to contribute an additional $8,000 in catch-up contributions. And for those ages 60–63, a higher catch-up limit of $11,250 may apply.

As we head into the final months of the year, now is a great time to review:

• How much you’ve contributed so far
• Whether you can increase contributions before year-end
• Your overall retirement savings strategy
• Tax-planning opportunities before December 31

Sometimes the best financial planning opportunities have a deadline.

Don’t wait until December to start your year-end planning.

RETIREMENT FACT WITH DUSTIN:

Many people are surprised to learn that Medicare generally does not cover long-term custodial care—such as ongoing help with bathing, dressing or using the bathroom—when that is the only care needed.

Healthcare and possible long-term care expenses deserve a place in your retirement plan before a need arises.

A complete retirement plan should consider:

• Healthcare and Medicare costs
• Potential long-term care needs
• Insurance coverage
• Emergency reserves
• Your wishes for where and how you would like to receive care

Planning ahead can give you more choices later
