I just need to clear something up. The IRS tax filing statuses are: Single, Married filing jointly, Married filing separately, Head of Household and Surviving Widow with kids. Facebook notwithstanding, "It's Complicated" is NOT a filing status.

Tax laws have changed! Contact an accounting professional if you have an entertainment budget for business, are planning to move due to a job requirement, or if you normally itemize deductions.

How to know its really the IRS calling or knocking on your door | Internal Revenue Service FS-2017-07, April 19, 2017 — Many taxpayers have encountered individuals impersonating IRS officials – in person, over the telephone and via email.

If you receive a letter from the Health Care Marketplace saying that your monthly premiums are going to go up, please do not make any decisions until you call them to confirm. I was on the phone with them for a client and after verifying income and credit information I was told that their premium would actually go down by over $100 month. Their letter had in fact estimated a $500 per month INCREASE. The Marketplace told me that the letters were generated without adequate credit and income information.
