Going to help a client learn more about how to use Quickbooks.

Do you or someone you know need to know more about any facet of Quickbooks? KGB Bookkeeping can help. We do training in multiple short sessions so you can actually remember what is reviewed. A training session that covers too much at once will leave you forgetting a lot of what was reviewed. The idea is to learn, not be inundated with information you will forget.

For some people, time gets away so quickly or mistakes get made and taxes don’t get paid when they are supposed to. For the second year in a row the Arizona Department of Revenue is providing the Tax Recovery Program or in simpler terms an Amnesty Program.

This means if you file your late returns for 2013 or older income taxes or 2014 or older sales tax (TPT) between September 1, 2016 to Oct 31, 2016 you may have the opportunity to pay the tax without penalties and interest. And another incentive, it’s possible you could pay the late taxes in payments.

Unfortunately you can’t take advantage of this program if you or your business is already undergoing an audit but coming clean now could save some money.

A new scam called the "Federal Student Tax" has cropped up targeting students and their parents. If you get this call, hang up or don't call back if a message is left.

There is no such tax. If the IRS has a problem with you, we will either send Mr. T (he could use the work) or a letter to your house :)

Seriously, watch yourselves...and your kids.

What is KGB Bookkeeping?

The KGB. Does the sound of that excite you? Scare you? When I chose the name of my business, I chose my first initial, my husband’s first initial, and our last inital. I just HAD to use the play on the Russian espionage group. As it turns out, the Russian KGB has been touted as the world’s most effective information gathering organization. How absolutely fitting for a bookkeeping, accounting, and tax company!

Agents. The Russian KGB considered its information providers as agents. My job as your bookkeeper for your small business is exactly the same. I gather information from you, your bank, and other places in order to organize and prepare your financial statements.

Controllers. Again the original KGB had controllers, who were the intelligence relayers. Oddly enough, my past corporate history has been as a Controller for several companies. In this role, I relay information to the CEO and the board members about the financial status of the company, as well as watch over pricing, banking, who is touching what, and internal controls that keep the big companies out of the Enron and HealthSouth scandal category.

So while I chose KGB Bookkeeping for my company name for a completely different reason, it turns out it really is ironic in that this is exactly what I do for my clients.

KGB Bookkeeping is now helping new business owners get set up with business licenses, trade names, filing the correct paperwork, and all that it takes to start a new business.

NEWSFLASH:

QuickBooks 2014 is NOT compatible with Windows 10! If you have been considering upgrading Windows and use QB 2014 (desktop), you may want to reserach this!
