Q4 is not the end of this year. It's the setup for the next one.

Here's what I mean.

The invoice you send in November on Net 30 is not November money. It's January money. Your Q1 cash position is being built right now, by what you bill and how fast you collect it.

The conversations you start in October and November are the deals that close in January and February. Most owners stop reaching out in December because it's busy. Then they wonder why January is quiet. January is quiet because nobody planted anything in November.

Your books are the same. Messy Q4 records mean you spend Q1 fixing last year instead of working on this one. That's a full quarter spent looking backward.

And pricing. If you want a new rate in 2027, you tell people in Q4. Skip that and you're locked into this year's numbers for another twelve months.

None of this is about working harder in December. It's about understanding that Q1 does not start in January. It starts now, and most people are not paying attention.
