Tax season is here!

I want to share some information that was brought to our attention regarding filing.

FYI.... VERY IMPORTANT!!!
IRS opening day for Tax Returns is January 27, 2022

Do NOT be in a hurry to file!!

You MUST have 1 or 2 letters from the IRS this year if you DON'T want your refund help up!!
IRS will mail letters on Jan 19, 2022

Letter #6475 will tell us exactly what you received in the 2021 Stimulus Money.

Letter #6419 will tell us exactly what you received in the 2021 Advanced child tax credit.

You MUST have these in order to file your 2021 Tax Return!
IF you were to guess at these figures and they are wrong, your refund can be held up for approximately 12 months!

There are still people who have not received their 2020 tax returns.

Another action that you as taxpayers can do is to set up an account with the IRS so that you can check on issues personally, especially regarding these letters.

Here's how to get started for the new users:
Select View Your Account at IRS.gov homepage.
Select the "Create or view your account" button,
Click "Create Account" and then follow directions and provide information requested.

IRS has extended the filing date. Still accepting new clients. Call me for an appointment or the opportunity to be done remotely.

For anyone that filed taxes the past few years and have received a "Refund Anticipation Loan" from any tax preparation service, please consider the fact that the IRS likely DOES NOT have your direct deposit information. Please visit www.IRS.gov, have your tax return and banking information available and provide them this information. Easy to do. Please share this post.

So for all those that do not know: July 15 is the deadline to file and pay. Existing and new clients give me a call. I will walk you through the process to keep us all compliant with health guidelines. Stay safe. Be well.
