Some financial tasks are important, but also incredibly easy to keep pushing to another day. Setting up your child’s Trump Account may be one of them.

On Monday, October 12 at 4:00 PM PST, Tori is hosting a free 30 minute virtual session designed to help parents actually sit down and work through the process together.

After recently setting up accounts for Frankie and Teo herself, Tori will walk through what Trump Accounts are, who may be eligible, what information you’ll need, how to get started, and some of the common questions parents may have along the way.

Rather than sending you another resource to read later, the goal is to create dedicated time to actually work through it.

📅 Monday, October 12
⏰ 4:00 to 4:30 PM PST
💻 Virtual

Have your child’s Social Security number and basic information handy. Personal information will not be shared during the webinar.

When evaluating an investment strategy, returns are only one part of the conversation. Taxes and flexibility can matter too.

ETFs offer a convenient way to gain broad market exposure, but investors generally own shares of the fund rather than the individual securities within it. Direct indexing takes a different approach by holding individual securities designed to closely track a particular index.

Why does that matter? Owning the individual securities may provide additional opportunities for tax loss harvesting throughout the year, as well as greater flexibility over the securities held in a portfolio. Depending on an investor’s circumstances, harvested losses may be available to offset certain capital gains and potentially provide benefits in future tax years.

The objective isn’t necessarily to outperform an index. It’s to consider whether tracking that index in a different way could support a more tax aware investment strategy.

Like any investment or tax strategy, direct indexing isn’t appropriate for everyone. If you’re curious about how it works and whether it may be relevant to your overall financial plan, our team at Grounded Wealth Advisors would be happy to walk you through it.

When is the right time to speak with a financial advisor?

There isn’t one specific milestone you need to reach first. Often, people start looking for guidance when their finances become more complex, they’re approaching a major life transition, or they simply want more clarity around the decisions they’re making.

If you have multiple accounts without a clear strategy, are wondering whether you’re on track for retirement, or keep putting off important financial decisions, it may be a good time to start the conversation.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before asking for help. Sometimes that’s exactly when it makes sense to start.

Happy 32nd birthday to my favorite person❤️

One minute it’s just the two of us figuring life out. The next we’re celebrating your birthday in the kitchen with our babies.

As financial planners, we spend so much time talking about planning for the future, but sometimes the best part is looking around and realizing you’re already living in a life you once hoped for.

So grateful I get to build this life with you, Alex.

Here’s to 32 and everything ahead. ❤️

We’re excited to share a big career milestone for one of our own: Max is officially a Financial Advisor at Grounded Wealth Advisors!

Over the past 3.5 years, Max has learned the business from the ground up, worked alongside our advisory team, supported our clients, and gained valuable experience in the many details that go into financial planning. Now, he’s taking that experience into the next chapter of his career as a Financial Advisor.

As Max steps into his new position, the Client Services role has been passed into the very capable hands of Dianna, who has already been doing a fantastic job supporting our clients, coordinating with the team, and keeping everything moving behind the scenes.

We’re excited to see both Max and Dianna continue to grow within Grounded Wealth Advisors. Please join us in congratulating Max on this exciting milestone!

Your next financial step matters more than your next financial milestone.

So many people feel behind because they're comparing their journey to someone else's. The truth is, financial planning isn't about trying to do everything at once. It's about understanding where you are today and making the next decision that moves you forward.

Whether you're building an emergency fund, investing for retirement, or thinking about the legacy you want to leave, every stage has its purpose. Swipe through for a simple roadmap that can help you identify yours.

Where are you on your financial journey? Let us know below. 👇

Many people assume the primary role of a financial advisor is to identify the next great investment opportunity. Research from Vanguard suggests that the greatest value often comes from somewhere else.

A thoughtful financial advisor helps clients build an appropriate investment strategy, manage costs, rebalance portfolios over time, navigate tax considerations, and stay disciplined during periods of market uncertainty. According to Vanguard's research, these practices have the potential to add meaningful long-term value—not because an advisor can consistently predict markets, but because they help clients make better financial decisions throughout their lives.

The goal isn't to chase every market opportunity. It's to create a financial plan that supports your goals, helps you avoid costly mistakes, and gives you confidence through every stage of life.

When you join Grounded Wealth Advisors, Dianna is one of the first people you'll connect with. Whether she's coordinating paperwork, scheduling meetings, answering questions, or making sure every detail is in place, she's working behind the scenes to make your onboarding experience as smooth and stress-free as possible.

No two financial journeys are exactly alike, which means every onboarding process is a little different too. Our goal is simple: to help you feel welcomed, supported, and excited for what's ahead.

We celebrated Frankie’s 2nd birthday at Disneyland! ❤️

There’s something magical about watching your toddler experience Disneyland for the first time. Frankie’s favorite rides ended up being Dumbo, the Tea Cups, and (surprisingly!) Pirates of the Caribbean.

But the day wasn’t just magical. It was also real life.

The 90° heat was no joke. We had potty breaks for Frankie, pumping breaks for me, a single rider line break for Alex, and plenty of snack stops (including a churro or two that definitely saved the day). At every turn, there was something we could have tried to squeeze in, but going into the day we realized we couldn’t do it all. So we didn’t.

Instead, we chose to be intentional.

Before we walked through the gates, we got clear on what mattered most: staying healthy, keeping things low-stress, and making sure Frankie had a joyful, unhurried day. That clarity became our filter for every decision we made.

Skip the rush? Yes.
Sit in the shade longer? Absolutely.
Say no to one more ride so we could avoid a meltdown (for all of us 😆)? Worth it.

And honestly, it made the day better, not smaller.

I think financial planning works the same way.

It’s easy to approach money like a checklist: maximize returns, optimize every account, take every “good” opportunity, and try to do it all. But just like Disneyland, life doesn’t actually reward doing everything—it rewards doing the right things for you.

Intentional financial planning starts the same way our day did: with clarity on what matters most. Is it flexibility? Time with family? Security? Freedom to slow down? Once you know that, your money stops being about squeezing in every possible gain and starts being about supporting the life you actually want to live.

That clarity becomes your filter:

*You don’t have to chase every investment if it adds stress you don’t want.
*You don’t have to optimize every dollar if it costs you peace of mind.
*You don’t have to say yes to every “smart” financial move if it pulls you away from your priorities.

Because the goal isn’t a perfect financial plan. It’s a livable one.

One that leaves room for real life, unexpected detours, and yes…even churros.

The best plans aren’t the most optimized. The best plans are grounded in what matters most to you.

"Should I choose a Roth IRA or a Traditional IRA?"

It's a common question, but there isn't a one-size-fits-all answer.

Both Traditional IRAs and Roth IRAs are designed to help people save for retirement, but they differ in how they're generally structured and how they may fit into an overall financial plan. The most appropriate choice depends on your individual circumstances and goals.

If you've been wondering how different retirement accounts work, or have another retirement planning question, let us know in the comments. We may cover it in a future post.
