Starting in the 2027 tax year, the IRS will be replacing the Saver's Credit with the Saver's Match. Notices are arriving now from the IRS. There are income limits of $35,500 for single filers, and $71,000 for married filers, but eligible taxpayers will be able to claim up to $2000 of retirement contributions to IRA and ROTH IRA accounts, 401Ks, 403b, 457b, SIMPLE and SEP plans on their 2027 returns (filed in 2028) and the IRS will contribute a 50% match, up to $1000 to your retirement account. Kind of an additional refund, that gets sent to your retirement funds.
