Your business has been busy. Have your books kept up?

Before your next tax strategy appointment, let’s get a clearer picture of your numbers:

✅ Organize receipts and supporting records.
✅ Flag any personal and business expenses that got mixed together.

You don’t have to have everything perfect before asking for help.

Owning a home doesn’t automatically mean you should itemize—and taking the standard deduction doesn’t mean you missed out.

The right choice starts with your numbers.

Eligible mortgage interest, state and local taxes, charitable contributions, and qualifying unreimbursed medical expenses may count toward itemized deductions. Each category has its own rules and limits.

At My Financial Home, we review your eligible expenses and compare your options based on your filing situation. Don’t assume last year’s choice is still the right fit.

Ready to review your deductions before year-end? Message us “REVIEW” to get started.

🧮 HAVE YOU CHECKED YOUR ESTIMATED TAX PAYMENTS?

Business owners and self-employed taxpayers should know whether their estimated tax payments are keeping pace with their projected tax liability.

Changes in:

✔️ Income
✔️ Business profit
✔️ Investments
✔️ Withholding
✔️ Other sources of income

can affect the amount you may owe.

Don't assume last year's numbers still work for this year.

A tax-planning review can help you better understand where you currently stand.

💰 BUSINESS OWNERS: WHEN WAS YOUR LAST TAX STRATEGY CONVERSATION?

If your answer is:

“I haven't had one.”

Or…

“When I filed my taxes.”

It may be time for a conversation.

Tax strategy isn't simply about finding deductions.

It's about understanding your business, your income, your goals and your overall tax position.

There are still several months left in the year.

Use them wisely.

📲 Tax Strategy appointments are available through My Financial Home Enterprises®.

💼 BUSINESS OWNERS: KEEP BUSINESS AND PERSONAL SEPARATE.

Mixing personal and business transactions can make bookkeeping more difficult and create unnecessary problems when it's time to prepare your tax return.

Good habits include:

✔️ Separate business bank accounts
✔️ Separate business credit cards
✔️ Maintaining receipts and documentation
✔️ Properly categorizing expenses
✔️ Reconciling accounts regularly

Your financial records tell the story of your business.

Keep the story clean.

⏰ SEPTEMBER 15 TAX DEADLINE REMINDER

If your calendar-year S Corporation or Partnership return is currently on extension, the filing deadline is generally September 15.

If your tax professional is waiting for documents, financial statements or other information needed to complete your return, now is the time to provide it.

Don't wait until the deadline.

📌 September 15

Mark your calendar and make sure your return is moving toward completion.

📬 RECEIVED A TAX NOTICE? DON'T IGNORE IT.

An IRS or state tax notice does not automatically mean the worst.

But it DOES mean you should understand what the notice says and determine what action may be required.

If you're dealing with:

✔️ Back taxes
✔️ Unfiled returns
✔️ Tax notices
✔️ Collections
✔️ IRS or state tax matters

Our team can help you understand your situation and explore available resolution options.

The first step is understanding the problem.

💡 TAX PREPARATION AND TAX PLANNING ARE NOT THE SAME THING.

Tax preparation looks backward.

It reports what already happened.

Tax planning looks forward.

It gives us an opportunity to review your financial situation, identify potential strategies and make informed decisions while there may still be time to act.

Both are important.

But if you're a business owner, your first tax conversation of the year should not happen when it's time to file the return.

📲 Tax-planning appointments are available now.

📊 BUSINESS OWNERS: DO YOU KNOW YOUR NUMBERS?

We’re heading into the final months of the year.

Can you answer these questions?

✔️ What is your year-to-date revenue?
✔️ What are your year-to-date expenses?
✔️ What is your current profit?
✔️ Are your books reconciled?
✔️ What is your projected income for the year?

Good tax planning starts with good financial information.

If your books are behind, September is the time to get caught up.

Know your numbers before tax season arrives.
