How much can your property taxes actually be reduced?
The short answer is: there’s no standard percentage. Every property and assessment is different. But several issues can create an opportunity for a property tax reduction:
➡️ Excessive market-value assumptions
➡️ Incorrect comparable properties
➡️ Overstated income or understated vacancy
➡️ Unsupported capitalization rates
➡️ Insufficient depreciation
➡️ Functional or economic obsolescence
➡️ Duplicate or disposed business personal property
➡️ Incorrect asset classifications
PVS can review your assessment to identify whether a supportable property tax reduction opportunity is available. Contact us today at 913-498-0790.

Chip Saam, senior director of personal property operations at PVS, traded property tax work for live music and helped support a Michigan cause.
Chip joined LiverNOISe 2026, an annual grassroots community music festival known as a porchfest in Ferndale, Michigan. Local musicians perform throughout the neighborhood, bringing the community together around live music and a good cause.
This year’s event raised more than $6,000 for Focus: HOPE.
We love seeing our team members spend time supporting the communities that matter to them, and having a little fun along the way.

Is your machinery classified correctly for property tax purposes?
Industrial and manufacturing equipment can be complex and highly specialized. When an asset is assigned to the wrong category, it can affect depreciation and the resulting taxable value.
That makes asset classification an important part of a business personal property tax review, especially for companies managing large or equipment-heavy operations.
PVS reviews machinery reporting, asset classifications and depreciation schedules to identify issues that may be affecting the assessment.
Call PVS at 913-498-0790 for a closer property tax review.

Are you still paying property tax on equipment you no longer own? ⚠️
Asset records do not always keep pace with equipment changes, which can leave outdated entries in records used for Business Personal Property reporting. This is one of the common mistakes we often see.
Before filing, review your asset schedule for:
✔️ Equipment that has been disposed of
✔️ Assets that were sold or traded in
✔️ Items that have been retired
✔️Records that no longer match the assets your business owns
PVS can help review your BPP records, identify outdated asset entries and support accurate filing. Call 913-498-0790 to speak with our experts.
