CARES Act Provides Relief to Individuals and Businesses New legislation includes multiple provisions to provide relief.

We will continue to serve you and your financial needs, but your health is our first priority in the coming weeks.

Please note our updated policy:

Johnson County and surrounding counties have issued a “stay at home “ order effective Tuesday, March 24th. All residents will be expected to stay at home except for essential needs, or if they work for essential businesses or services.

In addition, the April 15th Federal filing and payment deadlines have been extended to July 15, 2020. Each state will issue guidance on filing and payment deadlines. Kansas and Missouri have extended their filing and payment deadlines to July 15th.

Professional services, such as accounting and tax services are considered essential services under the order.

Hutchins & Haake will remain open to complete all tax returns in our office by the original due date and to help you with your financial or tax needs

We will also be available to discuss the Small Business Disaster Assistance Loans from the SBA for your business.

Essential businesses are required to take proactive measures to ensure compliance with Social Distancing Requirements. In order to protect you and our employees we prefer the following forms of communication:

• The preferred method of receiving your information is through our Smart Vault Portal (Hutchins.smartvault.com). Please contact your tax preparer if you have questions or send your tax packet via US Mail.

• The preferred method of reviewing your information will be through the same portal where you will receive an email of what to review and sign.

• The preferred method of communicating questions or discussing your return is by a scheduled phone call or by using Zoom.

If the above-preferred methods do not work for you, we can schedule times for you to drop off or pick up information in the office. We ask that all appointments be scheduled to limit the amount of people in the office at one time. We do offer separate meeting times for the elderly or pick-up and delivery services.
