AM Best maintains stable outlook for global life reinsurance market
Keeping a close eye on industry trends is a big part of how I serve clients well. AM Best has maintained a stable outlook for the global life reinsurance market, which continues to post moderate growth thanks to well-capitalized firms. The US leads in premium volume, while the landscape is evolving with the rise of offshore annuity reinsurers and private equity, which is bringing in both heightened competition and increased regulatory attention. Even though this news is from the reinsurance world, it’s another reminder of how financial markets are always shifting—and why I’m committed to keeping you informed and up to date with the details that matter, whether you’re buying or selling your home.

Life Insurance Coverage, Cost and Benefits
When it comes to financial planning for your future and protecting your loved ones, understanding your life insurance options is key. Recently, I came across a US insurer offering both term and indexed universal life policies. What stood out to me was that while their term life coverage is typically priced above average for most, it becomes more competitive for buyers at ages 60 and 70. Their term policies range from 10 to 30 years and can be renewed up to age 95, with a minimum coverage starting at $100,000. Quotes are easily accessible online, though you'll complete your purchase with an agent—underscoring the importance of personalized guidance.

One notable feature is the inclusion of living benefits, allowing policyholders to tap into death benefits in the event of certain critical, chronic, or terminal illnesses. There are also riders for children, disability waivers, guaranteed insurability, and accidents, which can provide extra peace of mind.

However, for those considering permanent insurance, it's important to note that their options may not be as competitive—scoring lower for illustration reliability, internal costs, and early access to cash value. Indexed universal policies tie growth to market indexes, which can be appealing for some.

A significant strength: complaint rates are less than half the industry average, and they hold a solid A+ rating. One thing to be aware of, though, is a shorter window for converting term policies.

As always, I believe in arming my clients with up-to-date, clear information so you can make the best decisions for your family and future. If you have questions about how insurance could fit into your home buying or selling journey, I’m here to help you navigate every step.

Life Insurance Awareness Month puts focus on planning for the unexpected
As someone who is committed to guiding clients through every aspect of their real estate journey, I know that planning for the unexpected is just as important as finding the right home. Life Insurance Awareness Month is a timely reminder that financial protection shouldn’t be an afterthought—especially since coverage becomes more expensive as we age or as health circumstances shift. It’s not just about covering final expenses; it’s about ensuring ongoing support for those you care about. Taking time to explore different insurance options now can provide lasting peace of mind for you and your loved ones, much like staying informed in real estate helps you make the best possible decisions for your future.

The Insurance Conversations Younger Clients Need to Have
When guiding clients through the home buying and selling journey, I often see how important it is for younger families to have honest conversations about insurance. Life insurance, in particular, can be a cornerstone of financial security—especially for households that rely on a primary income. For those under 50 and in good health, term life insurance offers an affordable way to protect loved ones. It's also essential not to overlook disability insurance, since the reality is that disability can impact a family's stability even more frequently than an unexpected loss. Every family's needs are unique, and my commitment is always to make sure you have the knowledge to protect what matters most—at every step of your real estate experience.

Beyond the Policy: The Role of Life Insurance in a Financial Strategy
As someone committed to guiding clients through every step of their real estate journey, I often see how important it is to look beyond the immediate details and consider the bigger financial picture. Life Insurance Awareness Month is a great reminder: life insurance isn’t just a policy—it’s a critical part of protecting what matters most. It helps families and businesses by providing liquidity when it’s needed most, supporting business continuity, and ensuring that your financial strategy keeps pace with your changing needs. Regular reviews are key to making sure your coverage always aligns with your goals. Just as I provide ongoing support well after a home is bought or sold, I believe it’s essential to keep every aspect of your financial plan up to date so you can make decisions with confidence.

Life Insurance May Cost Less Than Expected
As someone who’s guided many clients through big life transitions—like buying a home or welcoming a new family member—I often see how important it is to keep financial protection in mind. Many people want life insurance but hesitate, thinking it’s out of reach financially. In reality, a healthy 30-year-old could secure meaningful coverage for around $1 a day. That’s a modest investment for real peace of mind. Major milestones, such as marriage, parenthood, or purchasing a home, are great times to review your coverage needs. Remember, you’re never younger than you are today, and taking action early can make all the difference. Today’s streamlined online applications mean some can secure same-day coverage, making it easier than ever to protect what matters. For families, there’s even a free policy locator that helps connect beneficiaries directly to insurers. Keeping you informed so you can make the best decisions for your future—that’s always my priority.

Employer Life Insurance May Not Be Enough
Life insurance through your employer is a benefit many of us appreciate—but as I’ve seen working with countless homeowners and families, it often isn’t enough to truly safeguard those we care about. For example, if you earn $70,000 and your workplace offers 2x your salary in coverage, that’s $140,000. After funeral expenses, catching up on bills, and making mortgage payments, that sum can disappear surprisingly fast.

The real challenge is income replacement that lasts for years. Financial experts recommend coverage of 10–12 times your annual income to help manage debts, protect against lost earning time, and cover essentials like childcare. Another issue: employer coverage is tied to your job. A career change, layoff, or even retirement can mean losing that safety net—and replacing it later can be expensive or harder to qualify for.

Even supplemental policies through work often come with similar portability issues, and their prices rise every five years. Locking in a 20- or 30-year term policy while you’re young can be wise. For instance, a healthy 30-year-old could secure $500,000 in 20-year term coverage for about $25–$30 a month.

As someone dedicated to guiding clients through life’s biggest investments—including protecting your home and loved ones—I encourage you to consider how your current coverage fits your long-term needs. Staying informed empowers you to make choices that serve your best interests, not just today, but well into the future.

Types of life insurance: A complete guide
As someone committed to guiding clients through every aspect of important financial decisions, I know understanding your options is essential—especially when it comes to life insurance. There are a few main types to consider: term life insurance, which is more affordable but provides coverage for a set period, and permanent life insurance, which lasts a lifetime and builds cash value but comes with higher premiums. There are also specialized policies that can help with things like funeral costs or other specific needs. The right choice really comes down to your goals, budget, and how long you want coverage. My approach has always been about empowering you with clear, current information so you can make decisions that fit your life and your future.

Life Insurance Coverage Has a Deadline
As someone who believes in guiding clients through every major life step, I often remind home buyers and sellers that certain protections, like term life insurance, come with important time limits. Term policies are set for a specific period—typically 10, 20, or 30 years—and coverage doesn’t last forever. Once the term ends, coverage stops unless you take action, such as renewing, buying new, or converting where possible. These steps aren’t automatic, and after the term, premiums can rise sharply due to age or health changes. Some plans allow conversion to permanent coverage without another health exam, while return-of-premium options may refund you only if you outlive the policy. The key is to align your insurance timeline with major milestones—income needs, your mortgage, children, and retirement—and review it annually to ensure your protection remains in place. Staying informed and proactive means you’re always positioned to make the best decisions for your future security.
