Exciting news from Arizona!
Earlier this month, Inclusiv and NLCUP member credit unions came together to officially form the new Inclusiv-Juntos Avanzamos/NLCUP Arizona Chapter!
This marks the fourth local chapter established through the longstanding collaboration between Inclusiv and NLCUP, strengthening a growing network of credit union leaders committed to advancing financial inclusion for Hispanic and immigrant communities.
The new chapter was constituted by Robin Romano and Tomas Rivas from MariSol Federal Credit Union, Jessica Martinez and Maria Thorsen from Credit Union West, and Alex Mangione from Global Credit Union.
Tomas Rivas of MariSol FCU was selected as Chapter President, and Jessica Martínez from Credit Union West as Vice President. Congratulations to Tomas and Jessica as they take on these new leadership roles!
A special shout-out and our appreciation to NLCUP for their continued partnership and for helping organize and grow these local chapters. Together, we’re building stronger connections among credit union leaders and expanding the reach of the Juntos Avanzamos network.
Interested in creating a Juntos Avanzamos/NLCUP Chapter in your state or region? We’d love to hear from you!

Last week, Inclusiv, in partnership with ACUSi and Sixth Avenue Baptist Federal Credit Union, hosted Transforming Communities: A Southern Regional Financial Empowerment Roundtable in Birmingham, AL. Held in conjunction with the Federation of Southern Cooperatives/Land Assistance Fund 59th Annual Meeting, over 30 people convened at the Sixth Avenue Baptist Church to discuss strategies to advance financial education and empower communities across the South.
Inclusiv member credit unions, Federation of Greene County Employees (FOGCE) FCU and Hope Credit Union highlighted how they are supporting communities, including strategic partnerships with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to host financial education workshops for students and initiatives to support small business owners. Additionally, special thanks to Operation HOPE, Inc. for providing members with an overview of their programs and services.
Attendance more than doubled since last year's Roundtable, which is evidence of the tremendous impact our CDCU member credit unions have in low- and moderate-income communities and of having space to share strategies on how our institutions are transforming communities across the South.
