Most race stories begin at the starting line.

Mine began at the registration table.

After helping a group of fellow athletes get to the starting line at Eagleman 70.3, I made my way to the check-in table and learned something I still can't believe...

**I had never signed up.** 😅

The race director looked at me, laughed, and said,

*"Ari, you took care of everyone else but forgot to take care of yourself."*

Thankfully, they made it happen.

With about 15 minutes until the start, I sprinted through transition, threw everything together, grabbed my wetsuit, and somehow made it to the swim just in time.

The adventure didn't stop there...

🌊 The current carried me past the swim exit, so I had to swim back.

📌 As I left transition for the run, I realized I'd forgotten my race belt at home. A few safety pins later, I was finally on my way.

Despite all the unexpected twists, it ended up being one of my favorite race experiences.

Huge thank you to the volunteers, race officials, my family, friends, and everyone who cheered us on. Looking forward to the next adventure! ❤️🏊‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♂️
