This was our first date overnight without baby XB being a third wheel! (he accompanied us on prior date nights at the Fairmont Long Beach and Alila Marea as I was still breastfeeding him). We are very lucky to have grandparents help during date overnights, couldn't really do it without them!

I wish someone told me this back in 2023. It would have made the transition easier. I think maybe I did hear it in bits and pieces, but it was hard to appreciate the sadness that happens, almost a feeling of permanent loss. Sometimes I still dream of being in a team room. I know the grass isn't greener, I know I can't be my true authentic self at a corporate place. It still takes active effort each day for me to let go.

There's an article in the WSJ about a person's estate that was meant to go to the grandkids, but didn't name the grandkids as beneficiaries.
