Cash or Accrual Reports. It matters more than you might think.

đź’µ Cash basis: Revenue and expenses are recorded when the money actually moves.

📋 Accrual basis: Revenue and expenses are recorded when they’re earned or incurred—even if the cash hasn’t moved yet.

👉 If you're trying to understand your true profitability, the accrual-basis P&L can give you a clearer picture of the work your business actually performed during the period.

But don’t ignore cash flow! A business can be profitable on paper and still have cash tied up in unpaid invoices.

Profitability and cash flow are two different things—and contractors need to understand both.
