Today, we honor Juneteenth—a day that commemorates freedom, reflects on our nation’s history, and celebrates the strength, perseverance, and contributions of the African American community. As a faith-based community, we pause to honor the resilience, courage, and enduring faith of those who endured the injustice of slavery and those who worked tirelessly to secure freedom for future generations. Their stories remind us of God's call to justice, mercy, and love for all people.
May we use this day to reflect on our shared history, celebrate the gift of freedom, and continue building communities where every person is treated with dignity and respect as a beloved child of God
❤️ Happy Juneteenth from all of us at Lutheran Homes!
