Individuals who didn't qualify for the 3rd Economic Impact Payment or did not receive the full amount may be eligible for the Recovery Rebate Credit based on their 2021 tax info. They'll need to file a 2021 tax return, even if they don't usually file, to claim the credit.

Individuals will also need the amount of their 3rd Economic Impact Payment and any Plus-Up Payments received to calculate their correct 2021 Recovery Rebate Credit amount when they file their tax return.

IRS to Handle Unemployment Returns, Don't Amend

Returns filed with unemployment benefits prior to the $10,200 exclusion should not be amended. The IRS has indicated it will refigure taxes on these returns and adjust the taxpayer's account accordingly. The IRS will then send any refund amount directly to the taxpayer.

The IRS has not yet communicated a timeline for making adjustments and sending refunds.

AJ TAX MASTERS has been independently owned and operated by Andrea Brent in Mount Dora, Florida near the beautiful atmosphere of downtown Mount Dora since grand opening in 1999. Consistency, trustworthiness, and being in an unchanging location is imperative to Andrea. An unchanging location demonstrates loyalty to her clients. Andrea began her tax professional career with Jackson Hewitt in 1994 as a seasonal tax preparer. While attending Seminole State College she developed a professional relationship with a Jackson Hewitt franchise owner, whom encouraged her to challenge complicated income taxes. Andrea was entrusted to oversee a JH location in Mount Dora along with the support of her Guardian Angel, Jackie Wakefield who provided her with the wisdom launch AJ TAX MASTERS in 1999. The initial “AJ” is for Andrea and Jackie (deceased). AJTM is comprised of over 25 years of tax professional experience. The atmosphere is welcoming, the staff is professional, and tax preparation services is proficient. A complete tax preparation office that offers a wide range of services such as individual, small business and corporation tax preparation services (Federal and State). AJTM offer refund advance loan products, instant cash cards, direct deposit, and check services, and financial guidance. For your convenience AJTM is available year-round for appointments and seasonal for walk-Ins, appointments, drop off tax preparation services, and we make house calls.
