⚠️ IMPORTANT TAX REMINDER — CHECK YOUR WITHHOLDING!
If you are NOT exempt from federal income tax but notice $0 or very little federal income tax being withheld from your paycheck, don’t wait until tax season to address it.
💰 CHECK YOUR PAYSTUB & W-4 NOW!
Your federal withholding is affected by your income, filing status, dependents, pay frequency, and the information you entered on your W-4.
⚠️ PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR FILING STATUS
If you selected Head of Household (HOH) on your W-4, payroll generally calculates less federal income tax withholding than Single because HOH receives more favorable withholding treatment.
That means some employees—especially those with lower wages or additional W-4 credits—may see very little or even $0 federal income tax withheld from certain checks.
If you're concerned that not enough is being withheld, review your W-4 and speak with your employer's payroll department.
✅ One option is to enter an additional dollar amount in Step 4(c) of Form W-4 to have extra federal income tax withheld from each paycheck.
📌 After updating your W-4, check your next few paystubs to make sure federal withholding is actually coming out.
DON'T WAIT UNTIL TAX SEASON!
Not having enough federal tax withheld during the year could mean a smaller refund or an unexpected IRS tax bill when you file.
