How to Budget for Your Dream Wedding
1. Make a wedding check list and determine the cost.
Make a list of everything you'll need for your wedding. Research wedding venues, catering, wedding invitations, wedding photographers, gifts, attire, etc.
Get quotes for everything.
2. Build a realistic timeline and budget. Total the cost of the wedding quotes and divide this by the amount o months you have before payments are due before the wedding.
This will reveal how much you'll have to save every month.
Make adjustments to your timeline or budget as needed.
3. Start saving!
Here are some ideas on how to save:
• Open a separate savings account for example; a high-yield savings account
• Set up a sub-accounts or “buckets” within an existing savings account
• Use automated savings so you can set it and forget it
Reap the benefits:☑ Set a clear goal☑ Make a realistic plan☑ Stick to it
Now go enjoy your dream wedding!

💡 Financial Mythbuster!
“I shouldn’t apply for Federal Student Aid.”
🚫 Myth and an important one to bust!
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) is your gateway to federal, state, and college-based financial aid. Whether you’re planning to attend a 2-year college, 4-year university, or a career or trade school, FAFSA matters.
🎓 Who should complete the FAFSA®?
Every student regardless of income. Filling it out makes you eligible for a wide range of aid, including grants, scholarships, work-study opportunities, and student loans.
✨ Think you won’t qualify? Think again.
Most students receive some form of financial aid, and since FAFSA is free, there’s no downside to applying.
📌 Bottom line: If you’re planning for school, don’t skip FAFSA.

February is Black History Month. A perfect time to spotlight trailblazers who changed history. ✨
Meet Maggie Lena Walker, a financial pioneer and powerhouse. Born July 15, 1867, in Richmond, Virginia, she became the first African-American woman in the United States to found and serve as president of a bank.
After witnessing white-owned banks refuse deposits from Black organizations, Walker saw an opportunity to create change. Her solution? A bank by the community, for the community, empowering economic independence and opportunity.
Her vision still resonates today:
"Let us put our money together; let us use our money… and reap the benefit ourselves."
A legacy of leadership, resilience, and financial empowerment worth remembering and celebrating.
