I walked through the Denver International Airport yesterday and came across an art exhibit called “Lines of Continuance,” curated by Steven J Yazzie, comprised of works of art created by multiple Indigenous artists. I agree with the following description taken from FlyDenver.com:

“Too often, Indigenous peoples and cultures are portrayed as belonging to the past, tethered to fixed places or preserved in static images, textbooks and museum dioramas.” — www.flydenver.com/press-release/denver-international-airport-opens-group-exhibition-reflecting-on-the-contemporary-indigenous-experience/.

Indigenous people are here, today. Everywhere, today. Let’s remember the past … the not-too-distant past … and embrace the present day.

Avenues for Youth is excited to share an upcoming event, Beyond the Checkbook: Creative Ways to Support the Causes You Love for Years to Come, presented by relational financial planner Roya Moltaji.

During this one-hour educational session, attendees will learn about less common, but very impactful, ways to incorporate charitable giving into their long-term financial plans. We had an amazing time at AuSM’s 9th Annual Jigsaw Puzzle Competition this past weekend!

I played tennis from 7th grade through my sophomore year of college, and I FINALLY made it to the US Open!

Seeing Billie Jean King walk out onto the court was definitely the highlight for me. Plus, US Open Tournament Director, Eric Butorac greeted Roger Federer as he received his International Tennis Hall of Fame ring. Eric’s dad, Tim, coached me throughout my junior high and high school years during the off-season. Eric and his brother, Jeff, were always on the courts, and it was a pleasure to see Eric on the main stage! What wowed me, you ask? Seeing Naomi Osaka’s walkout outfit — she showed up to PLAY!

I had an absolute blast at the NGLCC Conference in San Deigo this past week! I'm still shocked at the magnitude of the networking possibilities that presented themselves, and I simply cannot WAIT for next year!
