NOTICE TO CLIENTS OF TAX PREP & ACCOUNTING SERVICES, INC. UPDATE 7/28

The office has electricity and water. Phone and internet are out; expected back by late Wednesday. Since businesses like mine run on phone and internet I am effectively closed until these services return.

Was told this morning there were no deaths or serious injuries. Was worried about Manderfield's. Daughter saw someone pulled from the debris. Turns out she was not harmed seriously. Two businesses next to Manderfield's are clients. They will need my help soon.

It is expected that electricity will be out in Menasha for three weeks. The disaster is moments, recovery weeks, months, and years.

NOTICE TO CLIENTS OF TAX PREP & ACCOUNTING SERVICES, INC.

My office was not damaged by the tornado July 27th. However, overnight the utilities went out. WE Energies has not made an assessment yet, nor do they know when power will return. I am unsure if there is water service to the building at this time.

Therefore, the office will be closed the remainder of this week. I will reschedule appointments ASAP. I will assess the issue this morning and provide additional updates if needed.

Understand, my building was not damaged. Nobody was hurt at my office. For me and my family this is an inconvenience. There are many others less fortunate. The best thing now is to allow crews working in Menasha to work without me underfoot.

It is a rare moment when the government, business, or friends and family don't consider it a time to celebrate by spending. Birthdays, holidays, job change, home purchase, renting a new apartment, bought a new car, bought a used car…

Each and every event needs at least a small acknowledgement in the form of spending. A raise and or job promotion? You must buy a round! Bought a home? Housewarming party! And on it goes.

Gifting and spending are out of control and business and government love it that way. You spend; they profit. And it keeps you poor so you keep working those stressful jobs with inadequate pay because they got you over a barrel. The government loves your harmful spending habits because it increases tax revenues.

There has to be a better way. It requires a review of the psychology of money and a small change to your thinking. But the change is worth the ride.

There are powerful interests interested in your pocketbook. If you don't lay down the law you will end up deep in debt without a real plan for retirement. That is a prime recipe for unhappiness and burnout, along with great dissatisfaction with life. There has to be a better way.
