I am officially an Author!

I wrote this book starting in 2015; I journaled my entire 430 mile hike from Quantico, Virginia to Dover Plains, New York. It was my healing journey and my way to come back home after getting out of the Marine Corps. I had to grieve my best friend.

With that journaling, I realized that this journey was much like the entire decade of my Twenties. So, write a book, I did.

It took six years to get published after rejection from a multitude of publishing houses, decided to start my own through Amazon for now.

For many Veterans, VA disability isn't supplemental income. It's a major part of the household financial plan.
That’s why the annual COLA matters.
When VA disability represents a meaningful portion of your monthly household income, even a small adjustment can affect the bigger picture. But the number itself isn't the financial plan. The real question is whether your VA income, earned income, investments, savings, and other resources are collectively keeping pace with the increasing cost of supporting your family and the life you've built.
For Veterans, financial planning should recognize VA disability for what it is: a foundational piece of household cash flow that needs to be integrated into your long-term strategy.
Understand the COLA. Understand what it means for your monthly cash flow. Then make sure the rest of your financial plan is working alongside it.
Know the number. Then put it to work in the plan.

20130923 - Sergeant Novotny's End of Active Service.

This week marks that I've been a Veteran for 13 years. To this day, the 8 years I spent as an Active Duty Marine largely shape who I am today. The joy I have for just about everything, the leadership traits, the esprit de corps, discipline, tenacity, and just about any other adjective you could throw out there to describe me; it all roots in the Marine Corps.

I'm so honored that in the last 13 years after my active service I've found a group of servant leaders that are also Veterans. They've told me that while the uniform may have come off, the service doesn't have to end. From Team RWB, to Project9Line, to Travis Manion Foundation, to the New York Veteran Owned Business Association, to Michael P Murphy Navy SEAL Museum, to The VFW, The Legion, The Marine Corps League. It has been an amazing 13 years.

All this to say, please thank me for my service and we can revisit this in 7 weeks for the Marine Corps Birthday and Veterans Day where we can do this all again.
