We focus on extensive financial reviews, planning and projections, and ongoing support to keep our clients on track for financial success. Nearly twenty five years ago I began my journey as a certified public accountant. I have always enjoyed the process of helping people navigate their financial journey and have spent the better part of my career striving to provide the highest level of customer service for my clients’. I have spent over fifteen years working for various accounting firms in the Greater Boston area. In 2008, I realized I could provide a higher quality of service for my clients by starting my own firm. I knew I could provide that “personal touch” for every one of my clients’ and we haven’t looked back since. OUR PHILOSOPHY
Our philosophy is simple, we strive to build a long lasting relationship with our clients. We develop a clear understanding of their financial situations, discuss long term goals, overcome financial concerns, and provide proper planning. We have found that having a strong and transparent relationship with our clients’ allows us to offer a much higher level of service. OUR APPROACH
Many traditional CPA firms are solely focused on the numbers, but not us. Instead, we are focused on learning more about your business, your personal life, the obstacles you might of faced in the past and most importantly your future financial goals. Our approach is proactive, not reactive allowing us to set goals for the upcoming year. This allows us to craft a program that maximizes your financial objectives, strengthens your business and helps you meet your retirement goals. We have used this approach with our clients’ for many years and we are proud to say the feedback has been nothing short of positive. CONTACT US

😂 THURSDAY TAX THOUGHT: Your Shoebox Is Not a Tax Strategy!

If your tax records consist of a shoebox full of receipts, a few mystery envelopes, and a credit card statement you haven't looked at since March… we need to talk! 👀 Keeping good records throughout the year can make tax time a whole lot easier. Whether you're a small business owner or self-employed, tracking income and expenses regularly helps you identify potential deductions, support what you claim on your return, and avoid the last-minute scramble.

💡 Thursday Tip: Set aside a few minutes each week to organize receipts, categorize expenses, and update your bookkeeping. Your future self will thank you!

Because nobody wants their spring cleaning to include 11 months of paperwork. 😉

Tuesday Tax Tip: What Does "No Tax on Tips" Really Mean?
You've probably heard about the "no tax on tips" provision in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
But there's an important distinction:
It doesn't simply mean that all tips are no longer taxable.

The law created a federal deduction for qualified tips for eligible workers and occupations, subject to specific rules and limits. The deduction applies for tax years 2025–2028.

New tax laws often come with details that matter. Understanding the rules matters as much as knowing the headline.

Business Owner Tip: Your tax return shouldn't be the first time you look at your numbers. Your financial information can tell you much more than what you owe in taxes.
Regularly reviewing your numbers can help you understand:

📈 How your business is performing
💰 Where you're making or losing money
📊 Whether your estimated payments are on track
💡 Where you may be able to improve
🎯 What decisions you should be making before year-end

Your CPA can be more than someone you see once a year.
The more proactive you are with your financial information, the more informed your decisions can be.

💡 Tuesday Tax Tip: Don't Wait Until Tax Season
Taxes shouldn't be a once-a-year conversation.
At George J. Roberts CPA, we believe in being proactive, not reactive, when it comes to your taxes.

That means looking ahead at:
✔️ Your income
✔️ Estimated tax payments
✔️ Business expenses
✔️ Retirement contributions
✔️ Potential deductions and credits
✔️ Changes in your personal or business situation

Waiting until tax season can mean discovering opportunities after it's too late to act.

Good tax planning happens before you prepare your tax return.

The end of the year is closer than you think! October is a great time to start thinking about your year-end tax planning.
Waiting until January to look at your numbers may mean missing opportunities that needed to happen before December 31.

Consider asking:
💰 How is my income looking this year?
📊 Are my estimated tax payments on track?
🏦 Should I make additional retirement contributions?
💼 Are there business expenses or purchases I should consider before year-end?
📋 Have there been any major changes in my personal or business finances?

Good tax planning starts before the year ends.

💡 GEORGE J ROBERTS CPA TIP

Year-end tax planning shouldn't start in December. As the year begins to wind down, take a moment to look at where your business stands.

Have your revenues changed?
Have expenses increased?
Did you make a major purchase?
Did your business have an unusually strong year?

These changes can affect your overall tax picture.

Reviewing your financials before December 31 gives you more time to understand where you stand and make informed decisions before the year is over.

Don't wait for tax season to look at the numbers.

💡 GEORGE J ROBERTS CPA TIP

Keep your business and personal finances separate. One of the simplest ways to make tax time easier is to maintain separate bank accounts and credit cards for your business.

Why it matters:

✔️ Makes bookkeeping cleaner
✔️ Makes it easier to track business expenses
✔️ Helps you identify deductions
✔️ Makes financial reporting more accurate
✔️ Saves time when tax season arrives

Even if you're a small business or just getting started, good financial habits from the beginning can make a big difference later.

A little organization now can save a lot of time later.

You’re more than a number on a spreadsheet.

Behind every tax return, financial statement, and accounting question is a person, a family, or a business with its own goals and circumstances.

That’s why we take a personal approach with every client: we listen carefully, pay attention to the details, and provide service you can count on.

Because good accounting starts with knowing the people behind the numbers.
