Our Story

At Calander Wealth, everything starts with family. As a child, our Founder- Dusti Calander, Private Wealth Advisor - spent her days at job sites with her
grandparents, who ran a small tree service business. Her grandfather used to say,
"When you see a red bird, you’re about to come into some money." Over time, that red bird came to mean more than luck, it became a symbol of hope, resili

More young adults are staying home longer. That’s not failure. It’s today’s reality.

The real question is whether the support helps them move forward or creates dependency.

For many families, the goal is to help intentionally through clear expectations, financial boundaries, and a timeline that supports both generations.

If this is part of your family’s reality, it may be worth having the conversation now.

The real goal isn’t to work more hours. It’s to make what you’ve already earned buy back your time.

Medicare looks back two years when determining certain premiums.

So a Roth conversion, sale of appreciated investments, or large retirement withdrawal may improve the long-term plan while also increasing Medicare costs for a period of time.

That does not make the move wrong. It makes timing and coordination more important.

Before making a major income decision, it may be worth reviewing the Medicare impact too.

New Fed chair. New uncertainty. Same planning lesson.

The question is not whether the Fed cuts, hikes, or holds.

The better question is whether your plan can handle more than one outcome.

Lower rates may help borrowers. Higher rates may help savers. A long pause may change the math for cash, bonds, real estate, business loans, and retirement income.

But none of those scenarios should be the only way your plan works.

Good planning is not about making the perfect Fed prediction.

It is about being prepared if the prediction is wrong.

So many people want the outcome. Few are willing to become the person who earns it.

SpaceX. ChatGPT. The next IPO everyone wants to talk about.

Hot IPOs are exciting. But a strong investment plan is not built on excitement.

It is built on knowing what you own, why you own it, and how much risk you are actually taking.

Because the biggest mistake may not be missing the IPO.

It may be chasing it without a plan.

AI may be one of the biggest investment themes of this decade.

But it is not one single wave.

Infrastructure, data, cloud platforms, software integration, and productivity gains may each create different opportunities over time.

That matters because today’s market leaders may not be tomorrow’s.

If AI has become a bigger part of your portfolio, it may be worth asking whether your exposure still fits your goals, risk tolerance, and time horizon.

There’s a new asset worth protecting: attention.

Half the year is already behind us.

And sometimes the financial plan you started the year with does not perfectly match the life you are actually living now.

That is why a midyear review can be so valuable. Just to pause, look at the full picture, and ask:

Are we still on track for what matters most?

If your life has a lot of moving parts, this can be a good time to have that conversation before the year gets away from you.
