They have the key. But that doesn't mean they have to get in. 🔐

Cybercriminals don't always need to guess your password. Sometimes, they can simply steal it.

According to the National Cybersecurity Alliance, a cybercriminal known as "Zestix" compromised more than 50 multinational companies, exploiting accounts that weren't protected by multifactor authentication (MFA). Stolen passwords helped open the door, and without additional security measures, criminals had an easier path inside.

That's where MFA makes a difference.

MFA adds another step to the login process, helping protect your accounts even if someone gets ahold of your password.

Here's how you can make their job harder:

🔒 Turn on MFA wherever it's available, especially for financial accounts and email.

👤 Use an authenticator app or biometrics like Face ID when possible.

✳️️ Keep your passwords unique. Don't reuse the same password across multiple accounts.

This Cybersecurity Awareness Month, we're joining the National Cybersecurity Alliance in encouraging simple habits that make a big difference in protecting your information.

A new roof may not be the most exciting part of a YMCA, but it helps make everything underneath it possible.

First Mid recently donated $5,000 to the Hoerner YMCA in Keokuk, IA, to help fund a new roof and other improvements to its facility. For an organization that provides a place for local families to stay active, connect, and spend time together, those improvements help ensure the YMCA can continue its work for years to come.
