💙 A sweet message from the wife of one of our new clients this year:
“I know we haven't met, but J. shared how positive of an experience he had with you and how you invested the time to understand the business and help him. We truly appreciate it!
I knew you would be great just based upon the value your organization shares on social media. That is how I discovered you and referred J. your way!”
— Shelly
We truly want every person who walks through our doors to feel like we took the time to listen, understand, and genuinely help. We love our customers and a positive review is THE best compliment we could ever receive! 💙

Relief for all affected by Tropical Storm Arthur! 👇
The IRS Has Finally Released Guidance on Federal Disaster Tax Relief for the parishes of Avoyelles, St. Landry, St. Tammany and Terrebonne caused by Tropical Storm Arthur.
If you live or have a business in any of these parishes, you may qualify for several forms of relief, including:
Additional time to file certain federal tax returns.
Additional time to make certain federal tax payments without late filing or late payment penalties.
Penalty relief for many qualifying filings and payments.
The ability to claim uninsured or unreimbursed casualty losses on either your current year's return or your prior year's return, whichever provides the greater tax benefit. This is a BIG deal. This means, we have the option to take the casualty loss on either 2025 or 2026 returns. We can choose which situation benefits YOU more!
💙 As I promised when the flooding first occurred, Flash Tax will prepare disaster casualty loss claims for all of our clients at absolutely NO CHARGE.
Of course, we're also happy to help anyone in our community, whether you're a Flash Tax client or not. We would be happy to help you and your family navigate this process.
What records should you be keeping?
Now is the time to begin gathering and organizing documentation. Keep copies of:
• Before-and-after photographs of all damaged property.
• Repair estimates and contractor invoices.
• Receipts for cleanup, repairs, temporary housing, and replacement of damaged items.
• Insurance claims, settlement letters, and reimbursement information.
• FEMA applications, correspondence, and award letters.
• Bank and credit card statements showing disaster-related purchases.
• Lists of damaged or destroyed personal property with approximate values and purchase dates, if known.
• Any documentation showing the fair market value of major property before and after the storm
Our community has been through an incredibly difficult time, and I am here to help all of you who are truly like family to me!
Give our office a call or send us a message if you'd like us to review your situation.

Flood Tax Relief Update
We've had many clients ask whether the IRS has announced any tax relief for those affected by the recent flooding.
As of today, we're still waiting on official guidance from the IRS. As soon as it's released, we'll let you know exactly what it means for you.
While you're waiting, here are a few things to keep organized:
Your FEMA approval letters and payment information.
All insurance claim documents, including any payments you've received or expect to receive.
Photos and videos of the damage to your home, vehicles, business, or personal property.
Receipts for cleanup, repairs, temporary housing, replacement items, and any other flood-related expenses.
A list of any property that was damaged or destroyed.
Even if you've already started repairs, continue saving your receipts and documentation. Good records will be extremely important if disaster-related tax relief becomes available or if you qualify for a casualty loss deduction.
At Flash Tax, we're monitoring IRS announcements daily. Once official guidance is released, we'll explain any filing extensions, casualty loss rules, and other tax benefits that may be available.
As always, if you're a Flash Tax client and qualify for a disaster-related casualty loss claim, we will prepare that claim at no additional charge.
We're praying for everyone affected and remain committed to helping our community recover—one step at a time. 💙
The flooding our parish has experienced has been devastating. So many of our clients, friends, neighbors, and family members have been affected, and our thoughts and prayers continue to be with each of you as we begin the long road to recovery.
As the days go by, we're hearing more and more questions about tax relief, retirement distributions to help pay for repairs, casualty losses, insurance issues, and other financial concerns.
Please know that my staff and I are here to help in any way we can. If you have questions, don't hesitate to call or stop by. If we don't know the answer immediately, we'll help you find it.
Our office is also available if you need access to:
• Computers to report damage or complete disaster assistance applications
• Email services
• Fax services
• Copying and printing documents needed for insurance claims or assistance programs
It may not seem like much, but if it makes this difficult time just a little easier for someone, we're happy to help.
If our area is declared a Federally Declared Disaster Area by the President, I will personally assist all of our clients with preparing and filing any tax return casualty loss claims at no charge.
Please continue to pray for everyone who has suffered loss, for the first responders and volunteers working tirelessly, and for our entire community as we rebuild together.
We're Avoyelles strong, and we'll get through this—together.
It is absolutely heartbreaking to see what all of our friends, family, neighbors and members of our Parish are going through with this historic flooding.
I will be providing an update on any potential tax relief options available should the President declare our Parish a Federally Declared Disaster Area. Praying for all of our parish!🙏

To celebrate Administrative Professionals Day, we had to celebrate the very special Susan Gagnard! She works so hard behind the scenes making sure that everything is done accurately and in a timely manner. She came in multiple times this past season at 2:00 a.m. to start working on her work for the day! She has been with us for almost 20 years and has been like a second mom to all of us! We appreciate you Sue and love you very much. Cheers to many more years working together!🥂

Tax season has come to an end, and I’ve been sitting here thinking about it all… and if I’m being honest, it makes me a little emotional. 🥹
I just want to say thank y’all. Truly.
In a world where you have so many options, you chose us to handle something as important as your taxes. That’s not something I take lightly.
But the truth is… this has never just been about taxes to me.
It’s about the conversations. The relationships. The years we’ve spent together.
It’s catching up on everything that’s happened since last year… laughing about something funny that went on… hearing about your kids and how much they’ve grown. It’s celebrating the good moments… and it’s also sitting with someone during the hard ones. 🫶
Over the years, we’ve cried together when there’s been loss… we’ve prayed together through tough times… we’ve talked through health problems, family struggles, and everything in between. And then there are those moments where we just laugh like we’ve known each other forever.
And it’s more than just conversations.
It’s the hugs when you walk in the door.
It’s the funny little gifts—like that gas can that still makes me smile.
It’s the thoughtful flowers, the cards, the sweets y’all bring in just because you were thinking about us.
Those things stay with me. 🥹
I’ve had the blessing of growing older right alongside so many of you… watching your families grow, seeing kids turn into adults… and building something that feels a whole lot more like family than business.
And if I’m being honest, as this season wraps up, I do get a little tearful… because I truly feel blessed to have met so many people who started out as clients and have become like family and friends to me.
There are even times I catch myself telling some of y’all “love you” as you walk out the door—and I mean it. ❤
This business puts food on my table, takes care of my kids, and lets me show them what hard work and caring for people really looks like.
And it doesn’t stop with me.
Because of your support, I’m able to provide jobs for my team—good, hardworking people who show up, put in long hours, and take care of our clients like they’re their own family.
What you do for this business reaches far beyond one tax return.
So from the bottom of my heart… thank you.
Y’all aren’t just clients. You’re a part of our lives. And we don’t take that lightly.
I'll be right here when you need me...
Rebecca
