🚨 FINAL NOTICE — MASON INCOME TAX 🚨
Thursday, October 15, is the LAST DAY to file your extended tax return. Our office cutoff is 12:00 NOON. We will NOT stay late.
Please know this post isn’t meant to be mean. I left my home Monday and have worked until I could barely hold my eyes open. I have given up time with my husband, daughter, and son, missed lunches, and lost sleep to help get your returns finished. That time comes at a cost, and I need you to do your part.
ALL remaining information, signatures, and payment must be received by noon. You cannot send a little here and a little there and expect us to pull everything together at the last minute. We need complete information.
SELF-EMPLOYED CLIENTS: We need your income and expense TOTALS—not receipts, bank statements, or individual amounts for us to add up. Providing complete, accurate totals is YOUR responsibility.
Do not assume that because you came in or dropped off paperwork, your return has been sent. If you have not paid your preparation fee or signed the required authorization, we will not submit your return. We have worked to prepare it, and we do not work for free.
Not filing does NOT erase a tax balance or mean the IRS doesn’t know about your income. Failure to file can bring substantial penalties, along with interest and applicable late-payment penalties. The IRS may have your self-employment income on record, but it will not automatically know your deductible expenses.
If you cannot pay your tax balance in full, contact us about filing anyway. The IRS can arrange a payment plan. Your payment to the IRS is separate from your preparation fee.
You are responsible for following through and confirming your return has been filed. Our office is not responsible for delays or resulting penalties caused by your failure to provide required information, sign, pay your preparation fee, or respond.
The tax filing deadline is set by law. I don’t make those rules. Noon is our office cutoff so we have time to finish and submit completed returns.
I care about getting this done for you, but I cannot do your part for you.
12:00 NOON. Thursday, October 15. Please make this a priority.
We do appreciate you and know that your support keeps our business going. All we ask in return is common courtesy, communication, and respect for our time. We have families and responsibilities, too. Thank you for doing your part and allowing us to help you. ❤️
