With just over two months left in 2026 veterinary practice owners have a real opportunity to reduce their tax liability before year-end. From medical equipment purchases to retirement plan contributions and continuing education expenses there are legitimate strategies available right now that could make a meaningful difference in what you owe in April. 📋

Explore practical ways a practice can use extra cash, from building reserves to paying down debt or investing in growth. Clear, useful guidance for practice owners.

Don’t wait until December to start thinking about year-end tax planning. Start with clean, current numbers, review your year-to-date profit, and project where you could land by December 31.

The earlier you know, the more time you have to plan.

10/18/2026

Smart tax planning isn’t about chasing every credit. It’s about knowing which opportunities actually apply to you.

You run the clinic. We run the strategies. Dream practice. Real profits.

10/17/2026

If a tax strategy sounds too good to be true, it’s worth a second look.

Fake W-2s, inflated withholdings, and questionable credits can turn a promised refund into a much bigger problem. Verify before you file.

10/16/2026

Just because a tax credit is trending on social media doesn’t mean everyone qualifies. Legitimate credits have specific eligibility requirements.

Before you claim it, make sure it actually applies to you.

Relief vets often ask, “How much should I put aside for taxes?”

That number depends on the person, but there is another question that has to come first:

Do you know what the business actually earned after expenses?

A percentage applied to incomplete records is still based on incomplete information. Before worrying about the perfect tax number, make sure the income, expenses, mileage, and unpaid invoices are current.

The tax planning comes next.

Mid-October is a great time for veterinary practice owners to review their revenue per appointment and assess whether their service pricing still reflects the true cost of delivering care. Staff wages, medical supplies, and facility costs all tend to increase over time and if your fees have not kept pace your margins are quietly eroding every single month. 💊

10/12/2026

If someone promises a bigger tax refund by creating or changing tax documents, that’s a major red flag.

False W-2s and inflated withholdings can create serious problems with the IRS. A bigger refund isn’t worth filing false information.
