Form 1099-K - Payment card and online marketplace transactions

Under the guidance TPSOs, third-party settlement organizations, also known as payment apps and online marketplaces, will be required to report transactions when the amount of total payments is more than $5,000 in 2024; more than $2,500 in 2025; and more than $600 in calendar year 2026 and after.

It’s important for taxpayers to understand why they received a Form 1099-K and how to use it along with their other records to figure and report the correct amount of income on their tax return.

Victims of in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and parts of Florida, Tennessee and Virginia, now have until May 1, 2025 to file various individual and business tax returns and make payments.

IRS NEW SCAM ALERT 🚨

The IRS has issued a warning about a new fraudulent mailing that tricks people into believing they are eligible for a refund. The mailing comes in a cardboard envelope and includes a letter with the IRS logo. The letter asks for personal details, such as photos of driver's licenses, cellphone numbers, and bank information. It also contains errors and inaccuracies, including an incorrect deadline for tax refunds. It is important to remember that the IRS does not contact taxpayers through email, text, or social media regarding refunds or bills.
