In case you missed it, the IRS announced a midyear increase to the 2026 standard mileage rates that took effect on July 1. The business mileage rate is now 76¢ per mile, with medical and qualified moving rates increased to 23.5¢ per mile. The charitable mileage rate remains unchanged at 14¢ per mile.

Local Minimum Wage Increases July 1, 2026
Do you know what the minimum wage increases will be on July 1st for multiple cities and counties in California? Certain employers will need to adjust their wages to reflect the increased amounts for their location.
Employers with remote and hybrid employees may need to adjust wages according to the city or county they work in.
To remain in compliance, employers must update their minimum wages for hours worked on or after July 1, 2026.

The IRS has confirmed that no changes will be made to tax returns or federal withholding tables for Tax Year 2025 under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA). The IRS is delaying changes until 2026 to avoid confusion and to give businesses and tax professionals time to prepare.
Additional guidance will be released in the coming months.

New minimum wages coming to California in 2026!
It was just announced that starting on January 1, 2026, California’s minimum wage will be increasing to $16.90/hour. This wage increase also affects full-time exempt employees, with their minimum salaries increasing to $70,304 (or $1,352/week).
