Health Savings Accounts (HSA): A powerful yet often overlooked tax-saving tool!

At our practice, we incorporate strategies to maximize tax-deductible health and retirement benefits as part of our comprehensive tax planning approach.

It Happens All the Time!

Clients come to me with these penalties notices:

🔹 They forgot to file an extension, and now, in the eyes of the IRS, they’re late on filing and facing failure-to-pay penalties.
🔹 They filed an extension but paid less than they were supposed to by the April 15th deadline, facing underpayment penalties.
🔹 They didn’t make estimated tax payments and are now hit with underpayment penalties.

🚨 To top it off: Interest is applied on top of the penalties — around 8% given today’s high-rate environment and adds up fast. 💸

💡 Good News: If you have a history of good tax compliance, the IRS may waive these penalties through the “Penalty Relief Due to First Time Abate” program or other administrative waivers.

I AM THRILLED to have successfully closed this challenging mortgage loan in just 10 business days, despite numerous obstacles.

The loan was transferred from another lender who couldn’t deliver, and we faced a tight deadline before the seller would cancel. Another one closed! Another happy borrower!

This refinance helped the client lower their rate by almost 2%, saving them a considerable amount every month.

The initial purchase was made with a nontraditional loan at a very high rate, and the large payments were taking a toll on our client’s finances.

They applied to refinance with two other lenders and almost lost hope because both attempts were unsuccessful.

The main issue was a change in one of the borrower’s employment. She sold a business and then got a W-2 job, starting part-time and later switching to full-time.

With creativity, I was able to qualify them by using the income from only one borrower with a stable employment history.

It took a lot of back-and-forth arguments with the lender’s underwriter about the calculation of the debt-to-income ratio, but with patience and persistence, I was able to succeed.

Now I have another happy customer waiting for the rates to go down again so we can lower the payment even more.

This is a perfect example of how I help clients close deals when things get tough!

The loan was initially submitted to Rocket Mortgage Retail and was declined. The inexperienced Loan Officer unnecessarily submitted the buyer’s request for repair form to the underwriting team, which disclosed various cosmetic items to cure (none of which were safety hazards).
This form is not required by lenders as part of the package and was simply submitted by mistake.

When I got the call, the buyer was ready to cancel as he had lost hope of closing before the set close of escrow date and did not want to risk losing the earnest money.

I repackaged the loan, submitted it to one of my trusted lenders, and got it done in 14 days, requesting only a 2-day extension.

The buyer was also able to get a lower rate at no cost compared to what was offered at Rocket.
