Today, the FOP and police department had the honor to present Lt. Steve Thomas with his retirement credentials, departmental plaque, and FOP shadow box. In 2016 Steve became the coordinator of our Police Department’s Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Program & Peer Support. He led the CIT program to International recognition as the CIT Officer of the Year in 2018, Unit of the Year in 2020 and person with lived experience of the Year in 2023. The program received the first Platinum Certification for a Regional Program in 2024. Most recently, Lt. Thomas has served as co-chair of Governor Moore’s Public Safety Transition Team, vice chair of the Multidisciplinary Education Subcommittee of the Maryland Judicial Behavioral Health Commission, and as staff at the Maryland Judicial College. He is an active member of the Board for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) - Maryland and faculty with the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF). In retirement, he will continue to serve the community and the profession in those capacities.

Congratulations to Brother Steve Thomas! We can't wait to see what comes next.

It is with deep sadness that we share in mourning the passing of our longtime club member Wayne Harris. Wayne was a distinguished leader in our community, but more than that he was a wonderful friend to us all. Please join us in keeping Linda and the entire Harris family in your thoughts and prayers.
