🎓 FAFSA season is here! If you or your student is planning for college, here are a few important things to know before you get started:

📌 Who can file: Undergraduate, graduate, and professional students can submit the FAFSA—there’s no income cutoff to apply.

📅 Know the deadlines: The federal deadline is June 30, 2027, but colleges may have much earlier priority deadlines for institutional aid. Some can be as early as January, so check each school’s deadline.

📂 Get prepared: Create an account at StudentAid.gov and have tax returns, child support records, cash account balances, and Social Security numbers for all contributors ready.

🔎 Form changes: Certain family business, farm, and commercial fishing business values are no longer reported on the FAFSA.

⚠️ Policy update: New federal borrowing rules took effect July 1, 2026, including changes to Grad PLUS and Parent PLUS loans. Students with earlier loan disbursements may be subject to prior limits for a limited period.

💻 Where to start: Head to StudentAid.gov and get your account set up. The FAFSA is now available.
