Welcome to the 4th qtr… and good news. Historically and seasonally, it's the stock market's favorite time of year! Since 1950, the S&P 500 has finished Q4 higher in 61 of 76 years, averaging a gain of about 4.2%, while the 1st & 2nd quarters averaged roughly 2% and the 3rd less than 1%. Then again, the market entered Q4 of 1987 up more than 30% for the yr and still gave back about 23%... so seasonality is a tailwind, not a guarantee. - The Motley Fool, 9/20/26

“Inflationary mindset” – when a business owner adjusts their prices higher than input cost increases because they are programmed to think more increases are around the corner, so they need to build a buffer to protect their margins, and this makes a central banker’s job harder – Beth Hammock (CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland)
