Age 18 is an important milestone for a person with a disability and their family. Understanding the available options—and choosing the least restrictive option that meets the person’s needs—is an important part of planning for adulthood.

Families Helping Families is a network of family-directed resource centers across Louisiana that helps individuals with disabilities and their families find information, resources, and support.

This helpful information comes from Families Helping Families in Region 7, and families here in the Acadiana area have their own local resource: Families Helping Families of Acadiana. They can be reached at 337-984-3458.

Community involvement is at the heart of who we are.

This week, we are proud to recognize Micah Moscovis, Financial Advisor and SpecialCare Planner in our Lafayette office, for his meaningful volunteer work with CASA. CASA volunteers are appointed by the court to advocate for children in state custody and help ensure their needs and best interests are heard.

Recently, Micah had the privilege of attending the adoption hearing for two boys he has served as a CASA volunteer, marking an important moment of permanency for their family.

His advocacy included helping support educational, disability-related, and home- and community-based service needs for the boys and their adoptive family, helping ensure they had access to critical resources and support.

Thank you, Micah, for showing what it means to serve with purpose, compassion, and commitment. We are proud to have you representing Magnolia Wealth Strategies both professionally and in our community.

Pictured following a special adoption hearing, this moment represents the power of advocacy, support, and permanency for children and families. Through his volunteer service with CASA, Micah Moscovis had the privilege of walking alongside this family during their journey and witnessing an important milestone become official. We are proud to recognize his dedication to serving others and strengthening our community.
