As many of you may already know, our office was flooded recently. We want to give a huge shout out to Troy Hassmann and his company Big Country Design and Construction for helping our landlord (and us) with the damage from the flood.

For the second year in a row, Troy and his team have stepped up and taken time away from their own projects to help flood victims by demolishing damaged homes and offices at no charge.

Thank you, Troy and the entire Big Country team, for your generosity, hard work, and commitment to our community. It's people like you who make the Hill Country such a special place.

We are saddened to share the passing of our founder and former partner, Mike Douville. Mike established our firm in 1986, and for decades faithfully served individuals and businesses in our community, building trusted relationships, some that have spanned generations.

Mike retired at the beginning of 2021, leaving behind a legacy of leadership, mentorship, and unwavering work ethic. Many of us had the privilege of learning directly from him and experiencing firsthand his steady guidance and dedication.

Mike shared a beautiful and loving marriage with his wife, Mary Sue. Their devotion to one another was evident to all who knew them, and our hearts are especially with Mary Sue and family during this time.

We are deeply grateful for Mike’s vision, character, and the lasting impact he made on our firm and our community. He will be remembered with great respect and appreciation.

We’re so proud to celebrate our very own Jan Reeve (you may also know her as Emily), who was awarded the 2025 Mary C. Williams Volunteer of the Year award by the Kerrville Area Chamber of Commerce! Your dedication, compassion, and commitment to giving back truly make a difference in our community — and we’re lucky to have you on our team.

Our table also tied for Best Team Spirit in the table decorating contest. Thank you to Maddi for taking the lead and setting up a perfect display to celebrate the GHA families’ athletes. It looked great!
