Helping to establish financial peace of mind and developing new advisors to create the same impact.

A GOOD financial advisor helps you get more RETURNS out of your money.

A GREAT financial advisor helps you get more LIFE out of your money.

Choose life.

Every time.

Retirement shouldn’t be the goal of your financial plan.

Living should be.

Yes, we should prepare for the day you don’t HAVE to work.

But a great financial plan should help you live more life along the way.

Take the trip.
Spend time with your family.
Give generously.
Help your kids.
Enjoy what you’ve worked hard for.

Financial planning isn’t about sacrificing your entire life today so you can finally enjoy it at 65.

It’s about using your money intentionally to live well today, tomorrow, and someday.

Monday reminder:

You don’t need to have everything figured out.

Your career. Your finances. Your business. Your future.

You just need to keep making good decisions more often than bad ones.

Small wins compound too.

Have a great week!

The first step toward getting your finances right has nothing to do with money.

It starts with gratitude.

If you can’t appreciate what you already have, no amount of money will ever feel like enough.

There will always be another raise, another house, another car, another “next thing.”

Building wealth is important, but being grateful along the way is the first step.

So, what are you grateful for today? Drop it in the comments.

Where do you fall?

Most Americans are in Tier 0 or 1: either not saving, or saving without intention.

Many savvy DIYers, and even people WITH a financial advisor, are in Tier 2: investing, but without a truly comprehensive plan.

Tier 3 is where it all starts working together.

Can we get you to Tier 3?

Hot Take: Having an accountant doesn’t mean you don’t need a great financial planner.

Especially for business owners.

Many accountants help you make smart tax decisions TODAY.

A great financial planner also looks at tax efficiency over your entire LIFE & beyond.

Buying equipment you don’t need just for the tax deduction?

You’re missing the mark.

Putting everything pre-tax just to lower today’s tax bill, without considering the tax bill waiting in retirement?

You’re missing the mark.

Even if most of your wealth is in your business or real estate, you still need a financial plan.

Your CPA and financial planner shouldn’t replace each other.

The best ones work together.

Saving a nickel today isn’t worth it if it costs you a dollar tomorrow.

PARENTS!!! “I have life insurance” isn’t enough.

I don’t talk about specific financial products often, but this one is too important not to.

Life insurance isn’t just something you have or don’t have.

The real question: how much?

Most people think about final expenses (maybe $25k?) and paying off debt (maybe $250k?)

But the BIG one they forget?

Replacing their income.

If you weren’t here tomorrow, can your spouse replace the $150k/year you make??

And for how long? 5 years? 10? Until your kids are grown?

Suddenly, you might be looking at a few million in coverage.

Having life insurance and having enough are two very different things.

And the punch?? It can be way more affordable than you think.

Don’t just check the box.

Make sure the number actually means something.

Another Northwestern Mutual Annual Meeting in the books.

It’s easy to think this week is all about celebrating awards and accomplishments, but for me, the biggest value is getting to spend time with advisors from across the country who are constantly raising the bar. Every conversation seems to spark a new idea or a better way to serve our clients.

That’s one of the things I’m most grateful for about partnering my business with Northwestern Mutual. We never stop learning.

Looking forward to putting a few of those ideas into action.

One thing I love about being a financial planner is getting to use one person’s hindsight as another person’s foresight.

One day, I’ll meet with someone who’s retired and hear things like:

“I wish we would’ve started investing for our kids sooner.”

“I wish someone would’ve told me about Backdoor Roth IRAs years ago.”

“Starting to invest in my 20s was one of the best financial decisions I ever made.”

The next day, I’ll sit down with someone in their 30s who says:

“We’ll start saving for the kids next year.”

“I make too much for a Roth IRA, so I guess I’m out of luck.”

“I’ll invest once I make a little more money.”

That’s one of the greatest privileges of this career.

I get to take lessons that took someone decades to learn…

…and help someone else learn them before it’s too late.

Sound familiar? Reach out.

Thought from my run this morning:

If you’ve spent any time around business or leadership, you’ve probably heard this phrase:

“Inspect what you expect.”

Why?

Because expectations that never get measured eventually become suggestions.

So here’s my question…

What if you applied that same principle to your hardest-working employee?

The one that works 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Your financial plan.

When’s the last time you inspected what you expected it to do?

Because if your income, taxes, family, or goals have changed…

…and your financial plan hasn’t…

don’t expect the same results.
