Here are my kids at a bday party we went to today. In someone’s back yard, in a tub full of cornstarch and water. Chris said it’s the best bdays he has ever been to. The entertainment consisted of jumping between the cornstarch, a puddle of mud and an inflatable pool. After being ( and throwing) all these elaborate parties with fancy cake and who knows how much money spent along with much stress, here is what children really want. They want some cornstarch and some M&Ms.

Introducing Bacon and Sushi, the newest acquisition of the Timmerman household. This is probably the worst $189 I spent this month. Let’s hope we get enough happiness and joy out of this project.

Homework time. “One day, I’ll be a first grader and have my own homework”. Keep up the big dreams, child. And let’s sell the value proposition of this future homework by increasing its current scarcity.

Sometimes, you just need a weekend in NY to put life in perspective. You know, mom, I don’t want to live in NY or in Cartagena. I’d like us to stay in Jacksonville, FL. Noted, child. So shall we.
