VectorNEXT has been busy this fall!

Over the past few weeks, our team has had the opportunity to connect with students at the University of Alabama and Freed-Hardeman University, sharing more about Vector, our internship program, and the possibilities of a career in financial planning.

At the University of Alabama, Paige Armstrong, Josh Jordan, and Marshall Dearing attended the Financial Planning Association mixer and career fair. Paige, a former VectorNEXT intern herself, loved getting to meet students interested in the program and hear more about their interests and what is drawing them toward financial planning.

“I really enjoyed hearing about their interests and passions, and what’s driving them toward a career in financial planning.”

We also had the opportunity to return to Freed-Hardeman University for our annual VectorNEXT Preview Event. Senior Partner Marshall Dearing shared:

“Our hope through this event is to show the tremendous opportunity for young people as they enter into the financial services industry and make a lasting impact in their communities, churches, families, and beyond.”

The day included candid conversations about life as an advisor, an inside look at Vector, and the opportunity to hear from one of our industry partners about their role in financial services.

We’re grateful for every opportunity to meet students, hear their stories, answer their questions, and help them explore what a career in financial planning could look like.

We’re thrilled to welcome Paige Armstrong to the Vector Wealth Strategies team as our new Wealth Management Analyst!

A graduate of Auburn University with a degree in Finance and Marketing, Paige first joined us as a virtual intern in Fall 2025 and we’re so glad to now have her on the team full-time.

Paige will support our Senior Advisors with client research, analysis, and financial planning while continuing to grow her expertise and build meaningful client relationships.

Outside of work, Paige enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring nature on long walks, playing pickleball, and discovering new restaurants and coffee shops.

Celebrating Marshall Dearing’s Promotion to Partner!

We are excited to announce that Marshall Dearing has become a partner at Vector Wealth Strategies!

Marshall’s journey with Vector began as a college student through our VectorNEXT internship program. After completing his internship, he joined our team full-time in 2020 as an Associate Advisor. Over the past six years, Marshall has grown from a young advisor learning the business into a CFP® professional, Senior Advisor, and now an owner of the firm.

“Marshall is exactly the kind of person we had in mind when we began building a path from internship to ownership at Vector,” says Jay Dryden, Managing Partner. “We wanted to create a place where talented young people could come in, learn our business, develop relationships with clients, grow as leaders, and eventually have the opportunity to own part of what they helped build. Marshall has done every bit of that.”

Throughout his career at Vector, Marshall has distinguished himself through his commitment to clients, his continued professional growth, and his ability to build meaningful relationships. He has also embraced the values that have shaped our firm from the beginning: working hard, playing hard, and making a difference. Outside of Vector, Marshall serves on the Board of Directors for Community of Hope and continues to find ways to invest in the community around him.

Marshall’s promotion is an exciting milestone for him, but it also represents something bigger for Vector. With both Marshall and Nick Jackson beginning their careers through VectorNEXT and now becoming owners of the firm, we are seeing our vision of developing the next generation of Vector leadership become reality. “We aren’t simply trying to build a firm that lasts for the careers of its founders,” Jay added. “We want to build something that can continue serving families and making a difference for generations. Watching Marshall grow from an intern into a partner makes me incredibly optimistic about where Vector is headed.”

We're proud to award a $5,000 grant from our Community Impact Fund to the North Alabama Coalition for the Homeless in support of HARBOR (Housing Access, Recovery, and Behavioral Outreach Resources), a new pilot program designed to serve unhoused individuals experiencing substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.

This grant will help expand access to voluntary, low-barrier, high-touch services through community outreach, shelters, and referrals, connecting individuals with housing, recovery resources, and behavioral health support before they enter crisis systems. By reaching people earlier, HARBOR aims to reduce emergency room visits, incarceration, and chronic homelessness while creating pathways toward long-term stability.

We're honored to partner with the North Alabama Coalition for the Homeless as they expand access to compassionate, community-based support for some of our region's most vulnerable neighbors.

We're proud to award a $5,000 grant from our Community Impact Fund to Fantasy Playhouse Children's Theater & Academy in support of expanding access to theatre and arts education for local students.

This grant will help remove financial barriers that can prevent low-income students from participating in theatre and arts programs. Through performances, workshops, and school partnerships, Fantasy Playhouse Children's Theater & Academy provides young people with opportunities to explore their creativity, build confidence, and develop valuable collaboration and communication skills.

We're proud to award a $5,000 grant from our Community Impact Fund to Enable Madison County in support of their Wheelchair Ramp Support initiative.

This grant will help fund the installation of new wheelchair ramps and the repairs of existing ramps for aging and homebound residents throughout Madison County. By improving safe access to and from their homes, these ramps help individuals maintain their independence, reduce safety risks, and stay connected to their community.

We're honored to partner with Enable Madison County as they create safer, more accessible communities and empower residents to live with greater independence and dignity.
