Your accounts receivable can reveal cash flow problems in your cleaning business before they become bigger issues.
Keep an eye on:
Total unpaid customer invoices
How long it typically takes clients to pay
Overdue residential or commercial accounts
Clients who repeatedly pay late
The percentage of your receivables that is past due
Booking more cleaning jobs is important, but revenue does not help your cash flow until the money is collected.
A clear invoicing and follow-up process can help your cleaning company get paid faster, cover payroll and supply costs, and maintain more consistent cash flow.

Noticing your cleaning business expenses starting to creep up? Here’s what to review next.
Check your profit and loss report
Make sure supplies, payroll, fuel, equipment, and subcontractor costs are categorized correctly
Identify which expense categories have increased
Compare current costs to previous months
Look for software, subscriptions, or services you no longer use
Review vendor pricing, supply costs, and service contracts
Evaluate labor costs and route efficiency
Adjust your pricing if the cost of providing your services has increased

This past week has been a whirlwind of birthdays. Mine on July 4th, sharing a birthday with a 250 year old country. Some days I feel like I'm the one turning 250, but mostly I'm just honored to share the day. Then my husband's birthday hit today. Somewhere in the celebrating, I let the start of the month slip right by too.
But here we are: officially halfway through 2026.
That makes this a good moment for a quick business check-in:
Are you on track to hit your revenue goals?
Have you reviewed your profit and loss recently?
Is your cash flow healthy?
Are your books up to date?
If any of those questions gave you pause, that's exactly the kind of clarity I help business owners get.
Send me a DM and let's chat!!!
