If your income stopped tomorrow, would your family’s financial plan continue working?
September is Life Insurance Awareness Month, a timely reminder to consider whether your current coverage could help protect:
• Your mortgage
• Everyday living expenses
• Your children’s needs
• Future education expenses
• Your family’s longer-term goals
This is not about fear, and life insurance is not a complete financial plan by itself. It is one part of a thoughtful protection strategy.
As your income, debt, family responsibilities, and goals change, your coverage should be reviewed to make sure it still reflects the people and priorities you are responsible for protecting.
“But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith…” 1 Timothy 5:8
Preparation is an important part of faithful stewardship.

Today, on National Charity Day, we are reminded that generosity is not simply something we do when we have “extra.” It is part of faithful stewardship.
Giving can take many forms: sharing financial resources, volunteering our time, using our talents, encouraging others, or supporting an organization doing meaningful work in our community.
At Provident Oak Financial, we believe generosity deserves an intentional place in a family’s financial plan. That may mean including regular giving in the monthly budget, supporting a cause close to your heart, or thoughtfully planning the legacy you hope to leave.
“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion.”
2 Corinthians 9:7
Today, consider celebrating a charity that matters to you. Tag a non-profit organization below and help more people discover the work they are doing.

🌳 Financial Friday:
Give “Someday” a Number
Meaningful experiences do not have to compete with wise financial planning; they can be part of it.
Is there a trip, family experience, act of generosity, or personal goal you keep postponing? Turn that vague “someday” into a simple plan:
1. Choose one goal.
2. Estimate the cost.
3. Select a realistic date.
4. Divide the total by the months remaining.
5. Automate the monthly savings.
For example, a $2,400 trip planned one year from now becomes a goal of $200 per month.
“The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance.” Proverbs 21:5
Good stewardship includes preparing for tomorrow while intentionally living the life God has entrusted to you today.
What “someday” goal could you begin planning for this month?

From the outside, a career can look completely successful.
You may have a respected title, loyal clients, years of experience, and a strong record of achievement, while still sensing that something is no longer aligned.
Sometimes the question is not whether you have been successful. It is whether your current environment allows you to serve people, practice your faith, and build the kind of legacy you believe God is calling you to create.
At Provident Oak, faith is not separate from the work we do. It shapes how we serve families, build relationships, make decisions, and define success.
You can be grateful for where you have been while prayerfully considering where God may be leading you next.
If you are an experienced Christian financial advisor and this resonates with you, send us a private message. We would be glad to have a confidential conversation.

Last week, we had the opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C., for the Freedom 250 race. We also got to take several amazing historical tours. It was a wonderful experience, but what we will cherish most is the time spent together and the memories we made.
That is one of the reasons financial planning matters.
It is easy to tell ourselves we will take the trip, spend more time with family, give generously, or pursue something meaningful “someday.” But someday can keep moving farther away.
A wise financial plan should help you prepare responsibly for the future while also making room for the life God has entrusted to you today. Money is a tool, not the final destination.
We invite you to consider what you may be postponing and how intentional planning could help.
What is one meaningful experience you would like to stop putting off?

🌳Before September Begins, Take 10 Minutes With Your Finances 🌳
August is ending today, which makes it a great time to ask one simple question:
Is your money moving you closer to what matters most?🤔
Before the calendar turns to September, take a few minutes to review:
✓ Did we spend intentionally this month?
✓ Are we consistently saving for our future?
✓ Is our emergency fund where it needs to be?
✓ Are our investments still aligned with our goals, time horizon, and values?
✓ Is there one financial decision we’ve been putting off?
✓ Are we using our resources in a way that reflects what matters most to our family?
Financial progress rarely comes from one dramatic decision. More often, it comes from small, intentional choices made consistently over time.
At Provident Oak Financial, we help families bring their financial life together with a plan built around their goals, priorities, and values, so their money has purpose beyond simply watching the numbers grow.
September is a fresh month. What is one financial goal you want to be more intentional about?🗓️

At your next family money meeting, ask:

2️⃣ Are we saving consistently?
3️⃣ Is any debt creating unnecessary pressure?
4️⃣ What opportunity do we want our money to support?
5️⃣ How will generosity be part of our plan?
These conversations can help families make more intentional decisions, prepare for what’s ahead, and connect financial choices with their values.
Money is a tool. The goal is to use it wisely and purposefully.

💙 Planning for a Loved One With Special Needs📋
Financial planning for a loved one with special needs often involves more than saving for the future. It means coordinating today’s resources with tomorrow’s care.
A thoughtful plan may include:
• Government benefits
• Savings
• Future housing needs
• Care instructions
• Estate documents
• Beneficiary designations
• Special-needs trusts
• Clear family communication
Each piece matters, but the real value comes from making sure they work together.
For Christian families, this kind of planning is also part of caring faithfully for those God has entrusted to us.
“But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith…” 1 Timothy 5:8

📚 A Family Financial Reset for the School Year📋
Back-to-school season brings more than new schedules, supplies, and activities. It can also be a good time to make sure your family’s finances are still aligned with your priorities.
Before the fall calendar gets too crowded, consider a quick family financial reset:
• Review your household budget
• Plan for school and activity expenses
• Revisit emergency savings
• Review insurance and beneficiaries
• Check retirement contributions
• Organize important tax documents
• Teach your children to **give, save, and spend
• Have a family conversation about money and upcoming goals
And most importantly, remember that financial planning is about more than numbers.
It is an opportunity to practice wise stewardship with what God has entrusted to your family.
A few intentional conversations now can help your family move into the school year with greater clarity and confidence.

🎓 College Funding Without Sacrificing Retirement🎓
As parents, it is natural to want to help our children graduate with as little student debt as possible.
But there is an important balance to consider:
paying for college should not come at the expense of your own retirement security.
There are loans available for college. There are no loans for retirement.
Instead of relying on one source to cover the entire cost of education, consider building a plan that may include a combination of:
• Savings
• Current cash flow
• Scholarships and grants
• Student employment
• Reasonable borrowing
• Contributions from parents or other family members
The goal does not have to be, “How can we pay for everything?”
A better question may be, “How can we help our child pursue their education while still protecting our family’s long-term financial future?”
Good financial planning looks at both goals together so that generosity today does not unintentionally create a financial burden later.
How are you balancing education and retirement goals?🤔💭
