2025 was full of hard work and teamwork, and closed with a joyous holiday season for our office. We've already started January off strong and are ready to make 2026 the most successful and prosperous year yet! What are you hopeful 2026 will bring?

Last week, members of our team attended the annual IRS Nationwide conference in Chicago to hear directly from the IRS about what they are developing internally. The conference gives great insight into tax code changes, what the IRS is doing to provide additional support to taxpayers and tax preparers in processing their annual tax returns, and new best practices to use in both preparing and processing annual tax filings. After lots of learning, of course we had to catch a Cubs game before heading back to Houston!

2024 was full of lots of hard work at the office, but also meals shared together, time spent serving our community, and plenty of laughs with great people along the way. Cheers to 2025 from our spectacular team! Wishing all our clients, friends, and family the most prosperous year to come!

It's an incredible honor to announce that I've been appointed by Governor Abbott to the board of the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy, an entity that oversees the 75,000 licensed CPAs in Texas. I look forward to serving in this capacity for the next 6 years to facilitate new CPAs entering the profession, as well as ensuring a fair and accurate accounting system is available to the public.

Congratulations to the students and families of Spring Branch ISD for completing their first full week of the 24-25 school year! Special shoutout to Hanna and Hanna, Inc. for hosting a School Supply Drive benefiting Spring Branch Elementary School. We were so happy to participate and hope every student has a successful school year!

Last month when Hurricane Beryl knocked out power for nearly 3 million Houstonians, The Houston Food Bank opened immediately to begin preparations for community relief. We are grateful our team was able to join the effort to help those impacted. Last week, our firm helped to prepare 7,500 meals for Houstonians in need.

10 years ago Maria joined our team and she has shown us every day how lucky we are to have her! Maria excels in her role and is a role model to many. Bright, dedicated, and hardworking are just a few words that describe her. Thank you, Maria, for all that you have done and continue to do!
