In today’s episode of “things that are easy to forget about,” we’re skipping past changing the furnace filter and heading straight to quarterly taxes.

If you’re self-employed, September 15th is your Q3 deadline, which gives you just enough time to prep:

✔️ Review your year-to-date cash flow
✔️ Revisit your revenue projections
✔️ Flag anything unusual (bonuses, settlements, new income streams)

Speaking of unusual: to all my trial attorney friends who landed a big settlement this summer, don't just cut the check and move on. Any kind of windfall, this one included, needs to be strategically managed, and you need to start thinking about tax mitigation now, not mid-December.
