For 17 years I’ve been a licensed life insurance agent, and since 2017 I’ve leveraged my background in computer science and two decades of tech expertise to build six figures in both insurance and digital products online. Along the way, I’ve trained thousands of agents, rolled over $500,000 in annuities, and closed $21,000 from a single cold lead. Along the way, I’ve been honored as a best-selling author through anthology features, a national speaker, and the recipient of multiple awards for sales, training, and community leadership. In 2023, after caring for my mother until her passing — while navigating my own health journey and family stress — I almost walked away from it all. Welcome to my weekly update :
The update was supposed to drop yesterday but as a women over 40, your girl was tired from the Mexico🇲🇽 move.

This is part of my series on going from overachiever high earner to health-first semi-retired introvert, because perimenopause told me to. 😳

Whew. October came rushing in and didn't even say excuse me.

We landed, viewed homes, signed the contract, and are fully settled. Less than 2 weeks.

**We chose the indoor pool.** 🏊🏾‍♀️
Furnished home so it was personal items only, and we have plenty. Living in the jungle but we love 🩷 our creature comforts.

Of course it stormed on moving day.
Of course things revealed themselves once we paid closer attention.

Great team handled everything same day or next. Two maintenence appointments this week, most important one is our water filtration install.

Clean drinking water is non-negotiable. Otherwise you have to buy it in large jugs.

Then the internet went out for 48 hours. Entire Playa del Carmen area. Hurricane season is here. ☔ Rains often.

We also had two power outages, also normal here. Our Jackery power bank keeps us running for 12+ hours so we stay prepared.

I used the downtime to create content and get ahead for Q4. Because we have work to do.

🍂 One thing I've learned as a but no one talks about ..

Is to set your intentions AND your mood so you know IMMEDIATELY when something shifts{internal or external}.

This is one of the ways I Master My Emotions despite grief, perimenopause, family hiccups, and life in general always fighting to take over.

🕊️ The last thing I would have wanted to worry about when my mom passed would've been anything financial.

That would've truly BROKEN me.

But as a life agent for 17 yrs, I've seen so many situations where lack of preparation or for the unexpected death of a loved one is due to budget and bills.

The life insurance policy is one of the expenses cut when things get tight.🤦🏾‍♀️

I understand...
We had a similar situation for my uncle's funeral when he died in our house fire.

It was a lot to deal with.
We hadn't had the conversation about his coverage.

Budget sensitivity or not, some type of coverage is needed, and Funeral Plan Protection is a viable option.

This is why I became a Funeral Plan Consultant.

As long as I keep seeing posts for deceased family and friends, I will continue to share ALL options to avoid such financial stress and embarrassment during such a heavy time

Nothing would be the same!!

Here's what a year of silence taught me.

Welcome to my Sunday UPDATE:
My weekly honest check-in on life, health, business, and everything in between.

Every Sunday I show up here to share what's working, what's not, and what's next.

What I learned, is NOTHING about me would be the same. As a women over 40, this created so many mixed emotions.

Everything got loud.
So, I got quieter.

- Loving my 7am walks.
- Fall Lock-In is official. 🍁
- Feeling refreshed & Free

So, I had no idea that putting myself first would make me fall back in love with my business, my community, & life! 🥰

But here we are.

This past year, I stepped back:
Surgery, perimenopause, grief, late-diagnosed ADHD, living between two countries.

I sat down and took an honest look at everything, the same way I do with my consulting clients.

Reviewing my:
- Business Structure
- Lifestyle Restrictions & Desires
- Capacity, Energy, & Accommodations
- Revenue Streams & Opportunities

I rebuilt everything around the new me, not the version of me that used to run on adrenaline, high-achiever proving energy, putting everyone else first.

October marks the beginning of Q4 🗓️.

For me, it's fall back in love with your business season. 🧡

Y’all, my spirits are up.
My health has improved significantly.
I have a pep in my step.

And I'm ready to return to my calling, helping my community protect themselves from ™ the same way my husband and I have been doing for the past 10 years.

That’s how I'm able to live a semi-retired lifestyle between 2 countries.
