Pretty cool for all the Maryland natives out there! First official state with a shark and it's the biggest to ever exist! 🦈

October 1st, 2026: As of today, Otodus megalodon, commonly known as megalodon, is Maryland’s official state shark. The extinct species was the largest shark ever to live. With this designation taking effect, Maryland becomes the first state in the nation to recognize an official State Shark.
