September brought the Federal Reserve’s first rate hike since 2023, rising Treasury yields, and another jump in energy prices as the U.S.-Iran conflict kept pressure on fuel costs.

The month also highlighted a growing divide in the market. AI and technology stocks helped lift the Nasdaq, while the S&P 500, Dow, and smaller companies struggled under the weight of higher rates. At the same time, stronger-than-expected economic growth gave the Fed more room to keep policy tight. Swipe to learn more.

October has a way of sharpening our focus. The year is winding down, the to-do lists are getting longer, and there is a quiet but real pressure to finish strong.

This quote is a good one to carry into the final stretch. Having a vision is one thing, but doing the work to make it real is another. That is where leadership, whether in business, on a team, or in your own life, truly lives.

As you head into the rest of October, what is one vision you are actively working to bring to life right now? Share it in the comments. We would love to cheer you on.

The U.S. economy showed resilience last quarter, but the picture wasn’t all rosy. Hiring slowed sharply, and while consumer spending picked up, the U.S.-Iran conflict drove fuel prices higher and kept inflation elevated. Additionally, the Federal Reserve raised rates for the first time since 2023. Swipe to learn more.

The 2027-2028 FAFSA is open as of October 1, 2026. If you or a student you support plans to attend college during the 2027–2028 academic year, it is a good idea to get started on the process early. So, with that in mind, our team wanted to share a few early steps that can help streamline the process:

🔹Create or verify your StudentAid.gov account.
🔹Gather essential financial documentation, including 2025 tax returns, W-2s, and income records.
🔹Determine which parent(s) or contributor(s) will be required to provide information, if necessary.
🔹Review college, state, and scholarship deadlines, as many institutions award aid on a first-come, first-served basis.

While the federal FAFSA deadline is June 30, 2028, many colleges and states set earlier priority deadlines for aid consideration, so submitting your application early can improve access to institutional, state, and need-based aid.

If you have questions about college funding strategies or how education expenses align with your overall financial plan, please contact our office. We are here to assist you.
