“We understand taxpayers’ frustration with delayed return processing and the impact it has on families. We apologize for the inconvenience and uncertainty these delays have caused,” said Deputy State Treasurer Kavita Kale. “The remaining returns, including refunds and balance due filings, require additional review to ensure accuracy, prevent fraud, and verify credit eligibility. Some are completed within days, while others may take several weeks depending on the information needed from the taxpayer or the actions required.”
