If you filed an extension for your 2025 federal individual tax return, your extended filing deadline is October 15, 2026.

And remember:

📌 An extension gives you more time to FILE — not more time to PAY.

If you still have a balance due, waiting until the deadline can create additional interest and penalties.

Before October 15, make sure you:

✔️ Gather your remaining tax documents
✔️ Complete your return
✔️ Review your filing status and deductions
✔️ Address any balance due
✔️ Get your return filed on time

Some taxpayers affected by federally declared disasters may have different deadlines, so your situation should be verified before filing.
